AbstractAbstract
[en] Tubular catalytic reactors were tested in a vertical receiver in the Schaeffer Solar furnace. The reactors were used for heating CO2 and for the endo thermal reforming reaction. 3.8 Kw were absorbed by the CO2. The maximum energy absorbed by the reforming reaction was 6.9 Kw, with methane conversion of 38%. Conversion of 84% was obtained with low reactants flow rates. The heat transfer correlation for the reactors was calculated from the experimental data. Reformer operating conditions in which the product gas can be fed directly to the metanator, were found. AbstractAbstract
[en] An inventory of the safety problems of nuclear ships is a preliminary to draw up a technical regulation for these ships. This inventory is established by taking into account, on the one hand, safety problems specific to four 'major systems': the nuclear steam supply system of the ship (NSSS), the nuclear ship itself (less its NSSS), the sea, the environment, and by taking into account, on the other hand, the interactions between these four major systems. The inventory can be enumerated by dividing each major system into 'systems' (such as 'fuel element', 'primary circuit boundary', ..., for the NSSS; or such as 'coastal zone', 'port', ..., for the environment). As example, for two systems, the list of the safety problems arising from the interactions between major systems involved is drawn up

L'inventaire des problemes de surete poses par les navires nucleaires est un prealable a l'elaboration d'une reglementation technique de ces navires. Cet inventaire s'etablit en considerant d'une part les problemes de surete propres a quatre 'grands systemes': la chaufferie nucleaire du navire nucleaire, le navire nucleaire (hors sa chaufferie), la mer, et l'environnement, et en considerant d'autre part les interactionss entre ces quatre grands systemes. AbstractAbstract
[en] During the period covered by this report we have prepared all the infrastructure for the acceptance of the Sandia-Israel receiver/reformer that arrived here in May 1987. We have connected all the tubing, electrical and control lines. We have carried out a preliminary experiment for heating CO2 in the focal zone of the solar furnace and managed to heat the whole reactor to a uniform temperature. We are continuing with the acceptance tests for all the components and will start actual reforming experiments, in the open loop mode, very soon. (authors). 13 figs

[en] The authors analyze the relationship between the ground-state density and the ground-state wavefunction, and the relationship between the ground-state density and its corresponding spin-free local external potential. The authors also discuss the universal variational functionals in density and one-matrix theories for ground-state energy calculations, and present rigorous virial-like equalities and bounds. Finally the authors compare wave-function, two-matrix, one-matrix and Kohn-Sham formulations and analyze the validity of noninteger occupation numbers within the Kohn-Sham theory
