AbstractAbstract
[en] The system for suppression of betatron oscillations of charged particles in the VEPP-4 electron-positron storage ring is described. The suppression system of coherent dipole oscillations of electron and positron bunches over the radius and vertical consists of four independent channels. The betatron oscillations monitor used in the system, is four plates, located along vacuum chamber and forming 50-Ohm lines with the chamber surface. Four 50-Ohm lines similar to the monit is used as a kicker in the system. The system for suppression of electron axial oscillations is made with the kicker connection to the ring resonator. In all the four systems for low oxcillations (with the amplitude of the order of 0.2 aperture) at the beam currents 2x1 mA the attenuation time of the order 0.5-1 ms is obtained. At higher amplitudes of initial ocillations the attenuation time in the systems without the ring resonator increases up to several milliseconds due to the limitation of voltage amplitude on the kicker. In the system with ring resonator the attenuation time 0.5- ms is obtained also and for ollations with initial amplitude of the aperture order. The systems operate over the whole range of the storage ring currents, at that the attnuation of signals e- in e+ channels and vice versa constituted about 26 db

AbstractAbstract
[en] Solution of the problem as to correction of the equilibrium beam orbit in charged particle accelerators with a strong-focusing magnetic structure is considered. The problem can be considerably simplified in case of the employment of the employment of the orthogonal system of correcting actions for orbit correction. Azimuthal harmonics employed for the purpose are considered. Requirements are set for the equilibrium orbit correction and observation systems which eliminate interactions of different harmonics

AbstractAbstract
[en] A power supply system for high-accuracy charging of the pulse-forming network of the modulator for operation at high repetition rates (up to 150 pps) is presented. The exceptional design feature of the system is a pulse-charging mode when the PFN is resonantly charged from a previously charged low-voltage capacitor via a pulse step-up transformer right before the electron beam pulse forming. The preliminary low-voltage capacitor is charged from a high-precision charging unit based on a high frequency inverter. The charging voltage is 50 kV, the average output power is up to 300 W

AbstractAbstract
[en] The equipment for measurement of the beam equilibrium orbit position in the NAP-M accumulator is described. The measurements are taken by the electrostatic transducers. The signals are delivered from the transducer electrodes to the source followers. At the output of the followers the signals are subtracted by the transformer with a volumetric coil. The total signal is picked off the common load of the followers. The further processing of the total and differential signals is performed with the 1st beam frequency harmonic and consists in rating of the differential signal for the beam current with subsequent synchronous detection. For discrimination of the 1st harmonic, a frequency converter employing field transistors has been designed. The problem of the increasing the accuracy of coincidence of the transmitter electric and geometric centers is discussed. The measuring system operates at the number of the particles on the orbit amounting to (1-2)x109 and the beam revesal frequency band within 0.36 - 2.5 MHz. The system has the beam displacement resolution of about 1 mm

AbstractAbstract
[en] Principles for construction of the system for stabilization of the proton beam radial position in the B-5 synchrotron are considered. Stabilization of the beam radial position during acceleration is performed by correction of the driving oscillator frequency according to the signals of the sign of beam excursion from vacuum chamber center. The stability of trimming loop is provided by the beam phase feedback. The expressions, relating the system parameters with beam characteristics are given. The above principles were used for construction of the system for stabilization of radial beam position in the B-5 synchrotron. The beam acceleration practically without losses is due to the operation of this system. When the number of beam particles doesn't exceed 1.5x108, the system stabilizes its position in the limits of less than +-3 mm With respect to geometric center of the chamber, which constitutes 10% of its aperture

AbstractAbstract
[en] Description of an on-line system for magnetic field measurements on the storage rings using spin echo method is presented. In the system described the magnetic field measurement is performed in the following way. In a specimen with the required atoms (e.g. protons or lithium nuclei) spin echo is induced by effect of a pair of pulses. A NMR frequency echo-signal received from the transducer is transferred to a lower intermediate frequency where it is transformed into a digital form using analog-to-digital converter and then spectral analysis using Fourier fast transformation method is performed. Echo-signal frequency and magnetic induction values, corresponding to it are determined according to the spectrum calculated and to a certain heterodyne frequency. The system allows one to measure fields within 0.05-1 T range using two proton detectors (with 2.1-42 MHz frequency range). Relative measurement error does not exceed 3x10-6. The detecor tubes are 5 mm in diameter with 10 mm winding length and are encased into a copper shield

AbstractAbstract
[en] Principles of design and results of operation of a system for measuring the equlibrium orbit of the VEPP-4 beam are described. Orbit measurements are performed along the radius and vertical direction in 52 sections of the storage vacuum chamber. The beam signal spectrum width constitutes 1-2 GHz. The antonomic unit of the system is the ATsP-ORBITA unit coupled with a computer. The system comprises 8 units. One unit operates with 8 pickup stations which include pickup electrodes, filters and matching electronics. The unit alternately interrogates pickup stations: and the results are memorized by the buffer memory. On operator command the information passes in the computer which calculates the orbit. The range of beam currents during operation of the system constitutes 0.025-2 mA. At a number of particles on the orbit equal to 4x109(500 μA) the measurement mean-square error constitutes 0.15 mm
