AbstractAbstract
[en] Using the recoil-distance technique in the 27Al(12C,2p)37Cl reaction mean lives of (19.6+-3.0)ps for the 7/2-, 3103keV state and (32.8+-2.0)ps for 9/2-, 4011keV state in 37Cl have been measured. The strength of the M2 decay from the 3103keV level appears to be the strongest among known M2 transitions in 2s-1d nuclei. An upper limit of 0.8ps for the feeding time in the fusion-evaporation reaction 27Al(12C,pn)37Ar was estimated from an attenuated Doppler-shift measurement

[en] The lifetime of the 738keV level of 43K excited by means of the 40Ar(α,p)43K reaction has been deduced from the distribution of time delays between protons and the decay γ-rays. The half-life was determined as 205+-10ns. This result favors a Jsup(π)=7/2- assignment

AbstractAbstract
[en] The perturbed integral angular distribution technique has been used to study hyperfine interactions of light nuclei recoil-implanted into iron. Heavy ion induced fusion-evaporation reactions populated the excited states of 37Ar, 39K, 40K, 41K and 41Ca, whose deexciting γ-rays were observed in a Ge(Li) detector. In all cases the measured shifts of the angular distributions were found much smaller than the ones calculated using the known values of g-factors, lifetimes and strengths of the internal hyperfine fields. This can be explained under the assumptions that only a fraction of the nuclei feels the full internal magnetic field, while the rest of them do not feel any magnetic interaction at all. Different fractions obtained for 40K and 41K suggest a migration process on a ns time scale of the implanted ions in the lattice

AbstractAbstract
[en] The nuclear structure at high spin for nuclei in the mass region around A=156 was studied via in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy, after high spin states had been identified in heavy-ion induced reactions. For nuclei in the vicinity of the closed N=82 shell, the levels appear as individual particle states, with large irregularities in the yrast sequence of energies and with the presence of high spin isomers. In heavier nuclei where the yrast levels exhibit a collective behavior, emphasis was put on the study of the second backbending effect. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] High spin states 54Mn were populated in the 52Cr(α,pnγ) reaction. Using angular distribution, linear polarization and γ-γ coincidence measurements, the following unambiguous spin and parity assignments were obtained: Esub(x), Jsup(π); 1073keV, 6+; 1784keV, 7+; 1925keV, 7+; 2857keV, 8+ and 3244keV (9)+. In addition a new level was observed at an excitation energy of 3939keV. The experimental data show evidence for low lying intruder states as predicted by a recent shell model calculation
