AbstractAbstract
[en] It is shown that elementary Quantum Mechanics, applied to the K0 K-bar0 system, predicts peculiar long range EPR correlations. Possible experimental verifications are discussed, and a concrete experiment with anti-protons annihilations at rest is proposed. A pedestrian approach to local models shows that K0 K-bar0 experimentation could provide arguments to the local realism versus quantum theory controversy. (author). 17 refs., 23 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] A simple triangular finite element for plates and shells, is presented. Since the rotation fields are assumed independent of the displacement fields, the element allows one to solve thick shells problems. In the limit for thin shell, the Kirchoff-Love hypothesis is automatically satisfied, thus enlarging its range of application. (Author)

(Autor)Original Title

AbstractAbstract
[en] An overview is given on the physics of intermediate autoionizing states occurring in various observation channels of electron-ion and photon-ion interactions. Formation and decay processes of such resonances are numerous and involve intricate effects on the associated cross sections. Recent progress in the field has become possible by the combination of intense, high quality photon and electron beams with well prepared ionic targets. By using advanced ion source technology, storage ring capabilities and trapped ion techniques a wide spectrum of target species is accessible to studies of ionic resonances ranging from negative to highly charged positive ions and even to ions encapsulated within fullerene molecules. AbstractAbstract
[en] Photon noise in the projection data of CT-measurements causes picture noise in the reconstructed images. This noise limits the precision of quantitative parameters such as for example the mean CT-value within a region of interest (ROI). The precision of this parameter is usually estimated as the standard error of the mean (SEM /SUB pix/ ) calculated from the root mean square deviation of the pixel values within the ROI. The reproducibility of the mean value (SEM /SUB rep/ ) however is limited by the photon statistics in the projection data and can be determined from repeated measurements as the root mean square deviation of the mean ROI values. The reconstruction process correlates individual picture elements, therefore SEM /SUB pix/ and SEM /SUB rep/ are not identical. Using the linearity of the convolution backprojection reconstruction algorithm, we present a new linear vector space notation and derive the relation between photon noise in the measured projection data and reproducibility of the mean CT-value in arbitrarily shaped ROIs. An easy to implement formula enables the calculation of the reproducibility, even if the tissue distribution in the ROI is not homogeneous. CT data from a special purpose low dose X-ray CT scanner were used to document the validity of our results for actual measurements

AbstractAbstract
[en] The charge asymmetry in the η meson decay is investigated. With 10709 events η → π+π-π0 the asymmetry is (0.3 ± 1.1) per cent. 1620 decays η → π+π-γ give (1.5 ± 2.5) per cent. There is no evidence for charge conjugation violation in electro-magnetic or semi-strong interactions. (author)
