AbstractAbstract
[en] The aims of this paper are as follows: to determine the specific activity of the uranium-thorium natural radionuclides, of 40K and to determine the element content in the samples of the slags taken in the tailings located within the V-VII century dated Bashkyzylsai river and its tributary water areas in the Chatkalsky chain foothills and in the tributaries of the XI-XII century dated Akhangaran-Karabau river and Karasai river within the Kuraminski chain foothills. The radionuclide composition of the specimens was determined by the γ-spectrometry means, while the element composition was determined making use of the instrumental neutron activation and the X-ray spectrum analyses. The data analysis enables to make the following conclusions: 226Ra makes the major contribution into the radioactivity of the samples; the specific activity of the natural 40K and 232Th in the majority of the samples is lower the traceable limits; within the experimental error the activity of 40K and of 232Th in the samples on conversion to K and Th content is in line with the relevant analytical data, the activity of 235U is in line with 235U/238U natural ratio; within the investigated samples the radioactive balance between 238U and 226Ra is violated and varies within 0.55 up to 0.9 limits

Цели настоящей работы - определение удельной активности природных радионуклидов ураноториевых семейств, 40K и установление содержания элементов в образцах шлаков, которые были отобраны в отвалах, расположенныx в бассейнах реки Башкызылсай, ее притока Кызылалмасай в предгорьях Чаткальского хребта, датируемых V-VII веками, и притоков рек Ахангаран-Карабау, Карасарай в предгорьях Кураминского хребта, датируемых XI-ХII веками. Радионуклидный состав образцов определяли γ-спектрометрическим методом, элементный состав - методами инструментального нейтронно-активационного и рентгеноспектрального анализа. Анализ данных позволяет сделать следующие выводы: основной вклад в радиоактивность проб вносит 226Ra; удельная активность природных 40K и 232Th в большинстве проб ниже предела обнаружения; в пределах экспериментальной погрешности активность 40K и 232Th в пробах в пересчете на содержание К и Th хорошо согласуется с соответствующими аналитическими данными, активность 235U соответствует природному соотношению 235U/238U; во всех исследованных пробах радиоактивное равновесие между 238U и 226Ra нарушено и варьирует в пределах от 0.55 до 0.9Original Title

[en] Paper deals with the results of the γ-spectrometry studies of the 7Be activity of the monthly atmospheric precipitations in 2004-2005 in Samarkand and their comparison with the precipitation quantity, the average wetness and the average temperature of the air. In some samples the 7Be activity varied from <10 up to 300 Bq/m2, the 7Be fallout was higher in 2004 in contrast to 2005 by 1.32. The activity of the natural 226Ra, 232Th, 40K in the examined samples was maximum 1.6 and 8 Bq/m2. The study of the 7Be activity in the 2004-2005 atmospheric precipitations enabled to reveal the 7Be fallout dependence on the weather factors

Приведены результаты γ-спектрометрических исследований активности 7Be в месячных атмосферных выпадениях 2004-2005 гг. в Самарканде и их сопоставления с количеством осадков, средней влажностью и средней температурой воздуха. В отдельных пробах активность 7Be изменяется от <10 до 300 Бк/м2, выпадений 7Be в 2004 г. больше, чем в 2005 г., в 1.32 раза. [en] Content of radioisotopes in the specimens sampled in the Samarkand district of Uzbekistan, on the Zarafshan, Kardar'ya, Akadar'ya, Dargom rivers (water, bottom sediments, soil, cotton plants, cane, willow) was investigated by gamma spectroscopy. Photo peaks of the 214Pb, 214Bi, 228Ac, 212Pb, 208Tl, 40K, 137Cs radiation were detected in γ-spectra of specimens. It was found that combined γ-activity reduced in the order: soil > bottom sediments > cotton plants > cane > willow > water
