AbstractAbstract
[en] An assessment is made of the size of magnetic fields occurring spontaneously in laser plasma and their effect on physical processes in the plasma. It is demonstrated that in all the cases examined, saturation of the magnetic field should take place in such a way that the relation between the cyclotron frequency of electron rotation in the magnetic field and the frequency of collision does not exceed a magnitude of the order of the unit. AbstractAbstract
[en] Acoustic instability of laser plasma close to critical density has been observed. Conditions of excitation of sound waves have been investigated, and it is shown that the instability threshold is determined only by plasma dimensions and energy supply rate and does not depend on laser power. The effect of sound waves on plasma dispersion characteristics is discussed. It is shown that taking into account the interaction between transverse and longitudinal oscillations in plasma in the field of sound waves leads to the break up of frequencies and displacement of reflection points of laser light. The speed of absorption of laser radiation increases and may considerably exceed classical absorption and a result of the Coulomb collisions

[en] A possibility of producing hot plasma and up-keeping induction-less current in the tokamak plasma loop (or in other similar systems) by means of filling the tokamak chamber with high-rate plasma flows, produced in the tokamak chamber itself under irradiation of a solid deuterium (tritium) target with high-power laser pulses, is considered. Expressions for plasma flow rate are derived in isothermal scattering approximation. It is found, that the maximum achievable value of accelerated ion energy under one-dimensional expansion of dense laser plasma is notably higher than in the case of three-dimensional scattering. It is shown that production of electric current, its value being dependent on the laser parameters, is possible under different concentration of ions in counter plasma flows (or under a fast plasma flow interaction with the background plasma). 24 refs

[en] The effect of magnetic fields and sound oscillations on the Raman scattering (RS) line splitting is analyzed. It is shown that the magnetic field approximately 1 MOe available in a laser plasma should cause a noticeable splitting of RS lines Δlambda=20 A. The effects considered can be in principle used as a means plasma diagnosis for studying the value and topology of magnetic fields in a laser plasma

[en] The paper suggests an exacting theory of phenomena near the plasma interface with solid surface. General expression for ion distribution function by rates in near-the wall plasma which is true at arbitrary frequency of scattering and takes account of possible strong distortions of function of ion distribution near the wall is determined with regard for recharging and ionization (recombination) processes. Asymptotic dependences of plasma parameters - electrical potential, density of ions, etc. - at a distance from the wall - are determined on the basis of space dependence of ion density obtained from function of ion distribution and in the assumption about Boltzmann character of electron distribution. 10 refs., 4 figs
