[en] Principles of construction of multidetector (MDA) and multidimensional (MDTA) for time analysis in the nanosecond range are revealed. The MDA essence is in the usage of one analog-to-digital converter (ADS) for measuring events registered by several detectors. Presented is the ADC functional diagram realizing the following possibilities: usage of one ADC for supplying several independent experiments, usage of one ADC for measuring the distribution of events genetically connected with each other, usage of additional inputs into the system for the receipt of auxiliary information for the experiment control. MDA includes the following functional units: ADC, detector number coder, device for preliminary processing of the event devices for the ADC code transformation and detector number code transformation. The MDTA scheme is presented for the case of measuring two-dimensional distributions from not less than 2 detectors. A simple principle of organization of corder number interaction and the ADC pair based on the fact that the first signal from every pair of signals is fed on one ADC and the second one - on the other ADC; but event codes with ADC are commutated depending on pair number code

AbstractAbstract
[en] A method permitting to exclude the background of accidental overlay (distortion of particle energy spectra connected with final probability of ''start'' and ''stop'' signal registration belonging to different acts of particle production) in the time-of-flight method with statistical start up is suggested. The principle flowsheet of a device permitting to realize the suggested method in the nanosecond range is described. Results of experimental test of operation of such device ar presented. The essence of the suggested method is that ''start'' signals accompanied by only one ''stop'' signal in the measured time range tausub(m) are chosen, and event registration in the main channel made according to common used circuit of the time-of-flight method is allowed only in this case. When the ''start'' signal is accompanied by two or more ''stop'' signals within tausub(m) range the registration of events in the main channel is forbidden. It is concluded that the device made according to the described flowsheet is efficient and it permits to essentially increase accuracy of the time-of-flight method

[en] A description is presented of a probe design and electrometric repeater circuit and technique for measuring the charge (current) density of electron beam single pulses by integrating current at a reference capacitor with a subsequent registering of voltage across the capacitor. The probe consists of a band-type signal electrodes and two oval cross-section sleeves: external and internal with larger and smaller rectangular openings, respectively. The external sleeve has antidynatron grid located over the hole. The design employs integer nickel sleever - the cores of electron tube cathodes. The signal electrode is made of nickel band 0.15 mm thick. The probe elements are insulated from each other along the whole length with a layer of teflon band (30 μm), with rectangular openings cut in compliance with the sleeve openings. The measurement range is from 0.4x10-9 to 1x10-7 C/cm2. The rated accuracy of measurements is no worse than +-5% for the beam energy of 0.2 to 3 KeV. The ultimate parameters the charge density <= 4x10-6 C/cm2 and direct current density 3 mA/cm2 - are specified by the breakdown voltage (200 V) of the input capacitor and probe insulation

[en] The time-of-flight spectrometer is described which is based on tandem electrostatic accelerator to measure discrete and continuous neutron spectra resulting from various nuclear reactions. The use of the accelerator in a pulse mode and its modifications made it possible to reach an average beam current of up to 2.5 μA at the bunch repetition rate of up to 5 MHz and ion pulse duration approximation 1 ns. Major attention has been paid to the design of the spectrometer shield and to the data measurement and processing system. A characteristic feature of the shield is that, for the first time, a mixture of paraffin and lithium hydrate enriched with Li6 was used. Time distribution measurements system consists of two channels connected with a stilbene-based detector and a time-of-flight monitor. The basic channel contains a timing circuit, a n-γ discrimination circuit by a shape of a scintillation pulse, an integrating discriminator and a slow coincidence circuit. The monitor channel contains a time selection unit, a coincidence circuit for signals from the two photomultipliers scanning the same scintillator, and a signal delay line. In addition, the detection system has a time-to-digital convertor based on a start-stop principle, the use of which makes it possible to obtain differential and integral nonlinearity not worse than 0.5 and 0.2, respectively
