[en] A calculating technique for the albedo characteristic for neutrons incident on a multiregion cylindrical block with multiplying properties is obtained in terms of the group approximation of the first collision probability method. The calculation results are presented for vaious types of such blocks. They agree well with the calculation results obtained by the Monte-Carlo method. The present results are compared to results obtained by other methods

AbstractAbstract
[en] Within the framework of the first collision probability method a procedure has been developed for calculating albedo characteristics of multilayer cylindrical blocks consisting of any number and combination of multiplying, absorbing, and scattering regions. An algorithm for the solution in the multigroup representation was developed for a BESM-6 computer, and a fast program was written for calculating albedo characteristics of a multiregion block of complex composition. The calculated results presented show that the albedo characteristics (matrices) for the most typical heterogeneous properties obtained by the proposed method are no less accurate than the results calculated by the Monte Carlo method. 12 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The technique for the calculation of albedo characteristics of multilayer cylindrical blocks composed of arbitrary number and combination of breeding, absorbing and scattering zones has been developed within the framework of the method of the first collision probability. A high-speed program for calcualtion of albedo matrices of complex blocks has been drawn up for the BESM-6 computer in the multigroup representation. The comparison of adduced calculation results shows that albedo matrices obtained with the proposed method for the most typical heterogeneous particularities do not yield in accuracy to calculation results by the Monto-Carlo method. Albedo characteristics calculation program is a part of the complex calculation program of heterogeneous system on the two-group approximation

[en] The paper compares the calculation results obtained in a multi-group diffusion approximation with the experimental values for the efficiency of individual, boron-containing, absorbing control rods and of systems of such rods arranged in the radial reflector of a homogeneous, cylindrical, thermal-neutron reactor. There is good agreement between the theoretical and the experimental results. It is shown that the contribution of epithermal absorption to the efficiency of cylindrical, solid control rods of the geometrical dimensions studied (2arod ≤ 3 cm) is about 30%. The three-group diffusion approximation method of calculating such systems developed by the authors is generalized for the case of arbitrary arrangement of the control rods in a radial reflector. L’auteur procède à une comparaison entre les résultats du calcul, obtenus par une approximation de diffusion dans une théorie à plusieurs groupes, et les valeurs expérimentales de l'efficacité des barres isolées et des ensembles des barres absorbantes (bore) disposées dans le réflecteur d'un réacteur homogène à coeur cylindrique et à neutrons thermiques. On constate que les résultats des études théoriques concordent bien avec ceux de l'expérience. On indique que la contribution de l'absorptj/on des neutrons épithermiques à l'efficacité des barres cylindriques pleines pour les grandeurs géométriques étudiées (∅ ≤ 3 cm) est de ∼ 30%. Dans la présente étude, fondée sur l'approximation de diffusion dans une théorie à trois groupes, la méthode de calcul élaborée par les auteurs pour les ensembles de ce genre a été généralisée pour le cas d'une disposition arbitraire des barres dans le réflecteur. Los autores comparan los resultados del cálculo, obtenidos por una aproximación de difusión en una teoría de varios grupos y los valores experimentales de la efectividad de las barras aisladas o de conjuntos de barras de control absorbentes a base de boro, situadas en el reflector radial de un reactor homogéneo de cuerpo cilindrico y de neutrones térmicos. Señalan que ambas series de resultados concuerdan satisfactoriamente. Demuestran que la contribución de la absorción de neutrones epitérmicos a la efectividad de las barras cilindricas macizas, dentro de las dimensiones geométricas estudiadas (∅ ≤ 3 cm) es del orden de 30%. [en] The RNK program for multiversion engineering calculations of various heterogeneous reactors is described. A principal program flowsheet is given. A task solution algorithm and its realization have been discussed. A manual for program users and results of program approval are presented using the calculation of KANTER critical assembly parameters as an example. The program permits to calculate in the two-group diffusion approximation in two-dimensional geometry an effective multiplication factor, neutron fluxes and adjoint functions for a cylinder type reactor consisting of concentric zones with different compositions in any combination. The class of tasks being solved most effectively by the program includes: the calculation of control organs in the core or side reactor reflector; the calculation of heterogeneous systems with the medium number of multiplying, absorbing and scattering blocks of finite sizes; the calculation of homogeneous systems with an arbitrary combination of concentric zones with different compositions. The program is written in the FORTRAN language and is realized by the BESM-6 computer
