AbstractAbstract
[en] A new technique to measure the polarization dependence of scattering intensity without using an analyzer crystal has been developed and applied to a magnetic satellite reflection of rare-earth metal dysprosium. We have successfully observed the scattering plane inclination angle θ dependence of satellite peak intensity. The magnetic and charge scattering have definitely different θ dependence of scattering intensity, which enables us to distinguish the scattering origins

AbstractAbstract
[en] X-ray diffraction measurements have been m[e on holmium metal in a magnetic field along the b-axis at several temperatures. The c-lattice parameter has been found to change discontinuously several times, which corresponds to the appearance of various magnetic structures. The result of numerical calculations by a self-consistent mean-field method confirmed that the effect of a helifan structure on lattices appears in a narrow range of magnetic field. Satellite peaks of the Bragg reflection have been observed in the helifan phase, indicating that the crystal lattice is modulated by this magnetic structure. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We measured the cross section of 3He(3He,2p)4He in the energy region of 30-50 keV center of mass energy by using the OCEAN facility. The resulting astrophysical S-factors are in agreement with the existing data and their total errors are as good as those of the previous experiment. For further study we tried the measurements at lower energies than Ecm = 30 keV. It will require running times of one month with more improvements such as background reduction and steady operation of the detection system

AbstractAbstract
[en] Exotic K X-ray emission from neutral iodine atoms was searched for by using a large volume NaI detector. The most stringent upper limit on the K X-ray emission rate was obtained as 8.3x10-24 yr-1. It leads to the most stringent upper limits εW2<3.0x10-30, element ofγ2<1.5x10-45 and δNP2<1.1x10-46 for the relative strengths of the charge non-conserving (CNC) weak process, the CNC electromagnetic process, and of the non-paulian K X-ray emission, respectively. AbstractAbstract
[en] The NEMO 3 detector is devoted to the search for neutrinoless double-beta decay (ββ0ν). The expected performance of the detector has successfully achieved after the operation of a radon free air facility. Half-lives of double beta decay with two neutrinos (ββ2ν) have been measured systematically for the 7 major nuclei (100Mo 82Se, 116Cd 150Nd, 96Zr, 48Ca, 130Te). There is no evidence of ββ0ν, and the corresponding lower limits for the half-lives are T0ν1/2 (100Mo) > 5.8 x 10 23y and T0ν1/2 (82Se) > 2.1 x 10 23y at 90% C.L

AbstractAbstract
[en] Recently it has been shown that (π+, K+) reactions at around Pπ ∼ 1GeV/c can be produced Λ hypernuclear states with large spin-polarization and spin-alignment. It is very interesting to produce spin polarized hypernuclei and to study asymmetry of weak decay of the polarized hypernuclei. We have a plan to produce polarized-Λ hypernuclei and to study asymmetry of the non-mesonic weak decay of the polarized-Λ hypernuclei. Asymmetry of non mesonic decay from the 1- ground states of 12C and 5/2+ one of 11B will be studied in the experiment. Here the ground state of 11B is populated through proton decays (strong baryon decay) of 2+ states in 12C. Protons from non-mesonic decays are studied in coincidence with 12C(π, K+) reaction feeding the 1- and 2+ states of 12C. Protons from non-mesonic decays of the 12C(1-) and 11B(5+/2) states are measured by two sets of ΔE·E counter telescopes which consist of 5mm plastic scintillator and segmented NaI scintillators. The PIK spectrometer, which has been constructed at the KEK K2 beam line, is used for the (π+, K+) reaction to produce hypernuclei. It's resolution is good enough to resolve the 1- and 2+ states in 12C. The present plan is the first and important step for further study of weak and electromagnetic (magnetic moment γ decay etc.) process in hypernuclei

AbstractAbstract
[en] Search for fast neutrons from the electrochemically loaded Pd-D system at room temperature was made in order to study the possible d+d fusion there. A low-background high-resolution Ge detector surrounded by neutron scatterers was used to investigate the fast (1-5 MeV) neutrons. The neutron flux was obtained by measuring yields of the γ-rays following inelastic scattering of the fast neutrons from nuclei in the scatterers. The observed spectrum shows no statistically significant excess of the γ-rays above background. The upper limit on the fusion rate was obtained as λf < 1.6·10-24(ddn)fusions/[(dd pair)sec]. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The neutrinoless double beta decay (ββ0ν) is the most sensitive process for the search of lepton number violation and its discovery would prove the neutrino is a massive Majorana particle. Based on the experience of the NEMO 3 detector construction and its data analysis, the SuperNEMO collaboration has been formed and started the feasibility study to construct next stage detector for the ββ experiment with a mass of at least 100 kg enriched ββ isotopes. The goal of the sensitivity is to reach ββ0ν half-life limit of a few 1026 years and 50 meV of the effective Majorana neutrino mass

AbstractAbstract
[en] Electromagnetic transition multipolarities of interband γ-transitions from the 12+ state of the two quasi-particles aligned s-band to the 12+ state of the ground state band were determined by measuring their γ-ray angular distributions and internal conversion electrons. Predominantly M1 characters of these 12+ → 12+ transitions in 164Er and 166Yb nuclei were found. The present result does support a current interpretation of the backbending mechanism. (author)
