AbstractAbstract
[en] Considered is a method of forming neutron and muon beams of superhigh energies with a wide energy spectrum. Beams are formed by means of a focusing device with a weak (of the order of 1-3 kGs) axial-symmetric magnetic field, dispersed along the whole length of decay region of the neutrinic channel. The magnetic field is excited by the current, passing in a thin central conductor. Given are calculation results, characterizing efficiency of this device application. The calculations are carried out for proton energies 1.5 and 3 TeV. Given are comparative curves, characterizing behaviour of neutrino spectra with the change of focusing filament parameters. Presented are calculation results, showing change of neutrino fluxes with the change of the channel length. Discussed is a principle possibility of combining in one channel including focusing filament, schemes of beam formation of three different types: νsub(μ)(anti νsub(μ)) beam with a wide energy spectrum, νsub(μ)(anti νsub(μ)) dichromatic beam, muon beam. Transition from the scheme of one beam formation to another is carried out only by the change of target location, supply regimes of magnetic elements, the degree of collimator exposing, etc. without transfer and replacement of the channel equipment

AbstractAbstract
[en] An experimental study of the deformations of the parabolic current-carrying shells which are the elements of the meson focusing system of the neutrino channel of the Institute of High-Energy Physics, Serpukhov, is reported. A measurement procedure is described which can be used to study the deformations of the elements of current-carrying systems for strong spurious electrical pickup. The experimental results are compared with calculations carried out on the basis of shell theory

AbstractAbstract
[en] The estimates for W± and Z0 production rates and various background contributions in the STAR detector with the barrel electromagnetic calorimeter are presented. These results were obtained by Monte-Carlo simulations with the PYTHIA V5.6/JETSET V7.3 of the LUND set of routines and GEANT V3.15

AbstractAbstract
[en] The inner tracking detector of the STAR experiment at the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider will consist of a three layer barrel structure of 216 silicon drift detectors. Calculations of the two-hit resolution achievable for these detectors are presented in this article. The effects on two-hit resolution of the electronic's response function, frequency of signal digitization and noise level are discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] A qualitative picture is considered and approximated formulas are obtained to evaluate the degree of magnetic field pulsation attenuation in deflecting magnets of charged particle accelerators. Typical dipole magnets, used in high-energy particle transport channels are investigated. On the basis of nUmerical solution of the problem it is shown that at the 50-300 Hz frequencies the eddy currents in the magnetic circuits can attenuate field pulsations in the magnet apertures from 2-3 to several dozens times depending on parameters and operation regime of the magnets. The main contribution to pulsation suppression is made by the effect of magnetic flux replacement from the magnetic circuit at the portion beyond the poles. 1.5 to 2-flold attenuation is ensured by exponential drop in the variable field from the gap edges to the centre. It is possible to attain a higher suppression of pulsations, using a short-circuited conducting loop of nonferromagnetic material, enveloping the working gap. A good suppression of field pulsations in the aperture is attained in the case when irs,.ead of placing the loop in the gap the winding is enclosed into a screen completely. Comparison of the eval uations obtained with the results of measurements of magnetic field culsation coefficient under different conditions has shown their good agreement

AbstractAbstract
[en] A system of two lithium lenses with axially symmetric fields and a symmetric triplet of quadrupole lenses with the 250 m optimum length of the focusing channel is considered to obtain pure neutrino and antineutrino beams at superhigh energies. The calculated characteristics of the lithium lenses of the 20 and 18 cm length with the 500 and 630 kA current, respectively, with 1.4 and 2.8 cm in radius, the maximum surface field of 70 and 45 kOe are presented. It is shown that such system provides neutrino (antineutrino) flux increase through the detector of the 1 m radius approximately 2.5 times and permits to decrease the integral flux of the background particles in the neutrino beam up to 2-3%, and in the antineutrino beam up to 10%

AbstractAbstract
[en] A compact 'warm' magnet with movable poles for a 'frozen' polarized proton target 400mm long and 20mm diameter was described. The gap between the poles is 74 mm, the field in the working volume of the target is 2.5 T with ±1.5x10-4 nonuniformity. After dynamic pumping of polarization and establishing the working temperature in the target, the magnet poles are put at a distance of 25 cm, providing the ejection of secondary particles within a useful solid angle of 0.4 at the field of 0.46 T. For the target polarization reverse with the interval of 10 min a special mechanical support to rotate the magnet along the beam axis within ±180 deg has been foreseen. 3 refs.; 3 figs
