The experimental distributions have been analysed in terms of expressions derived in the context of the Quark Counting Rules. [en] We present the final results on the D-meson lifetime measurements obtained by the NA27 experiment. From a sample of 145 D⁰/anti D⁰ and 149 D^± decays, we have measured τ(D⁰) = (4.6(+0.6-0.5))x10^-13 s, τ(D^±) = (11.2(+1.4-1.1))x10^-13 s, with a ratio R = τ(D^±)/τ(D⁰) = 2.4±0.4. (orig.)

The response of the sensors under moderated longitudinal and transverse tilts is studied and intrinsic performance is extracted. (author)

[en] An iron/gas parallel plate volume calorimeter prototype, working in the avalanche mode, has been tested using electrons of 20 to 150 GeV/c momentum with high voltages varying from 5400 to 5600 V (electric fields ranging from 36 to 37 KV/cm), and a gas mixture of CF4/CO, (80/20%). The collected charge was measured as a function of the high voltage and of the electron energy. The energy resolution was also measured. Comparisons are made with Monte-Carlo predictions. Agreement between data and simulation allows the calculation of the expected performance of a full size calorimeter. (Author)
