AbstractAbstract
[en] The objective of this study is to validate a finite element analysis (FEA) simulation methodology to predict the global behavior of thin-walled elbows subjected to in-plane bending. Two in-plane closing mode bending tests and one in-plane opening mode bending test were conducted on 2'' schedule 10 elbows, and a nonlinear FEA procedure was used to simulate the tests. A detailed FEA study was carried out to determine the relative importance of weld size and location, measured wall thicknesses, and original cross-section dimensions on the reconciliation results. When the weld bead was included in the analysis, the reconciliation results for load-displacement behavior and some of the strain measurements were excellent. For those cases in which the strain measurements reconciliations were not so good, a possible explanation is provided

AbstractAbstract
[en] The objective of this study is to validate a finite element analysis (FEA) simulation methodology to predict the out-of-plane behavior of piping elbows. Two out-of-plane elbow experiments and the corresponding FEA shell and elbow element models are presented. For load-displacements results, all the FEA predictions showed excellent agreement with measured experimental results, and for load-strain behavior, the shell FEA model results correlated quite well with the experimental results

AbstractAbstract
[en] Motivated by the recent ATLAS results in terms of the branching ratios Br(t → qγ), we consider the effects of the anomalous tqγ couplings on the radiative B meson decays and B → Vγ with V being light vector mesons ρ, ω, ϕ and K *. Comparing with the corresponding experimental measured data, we obtain the constraints on anomalous tqγ couplings. (paper)

AbstractAbstract
[en] With the development of reversible and quantum computing, study of reversible and quantum circuits has also developed rapidly. Due to physical constraints, most quantum circuits require quantum gates to interact on adjacent quantum bits. However, many existing quantum circuits nearest-neighbor have large quantum cost. Therefore, how to effectively reduce quantum cost is becoming a popular research topic. In this paper, we proposed multiple optimization strategies to reduce the quantum cost of the circuit, that is, we reduce quantum cost from MCT gates decomposition, nearest neighbor and circuit simplification, respectively. The experimental results show that the proposed strategies can effectively reduce the quantum cost, and the maximum optimization rate is 30.61% compared to the corresponding results.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Objective: To investigate the effect of superselective ophthalmic artery thrombolysis for treatment of central retinal artery (CRAT). Methods: 250000-500000 u urokinase was directly perfused via ophthalmic artery (OA) through the retained superselective catheter after angiography into 8 eyes of 8 patients with CRAT. Results: The visual acuity (VA) was significantly improved in 4 eyes. the VA of 3 eyes reached 0.1-0.3 after 6 months follow-up. the other 3 eyes achieved no significant improvement of VA. The VA of 1 eye decreased from finger count (FC) to light perception (LP). Conclusions: Early diagnosis and early superselective trans-micro catheter thrombolysis would be more effective than traditional treatment. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Silicon microring resonators (MRRs) are very popular for many applications because of the advantages of footprint compactness, easy scalability, and functional versatility. Ultra-compact silicon MRRs with box-like spectral responses are realized with a very large free-spectral range (FSR) by introducing bent directional couplers. The measured box-like spectral response has an FSR of >30 nm. The permanent wavelength-alignment techniques for MRRs are also presented, including the laser-induced local-oxidation technique as well as the local-etching technique. With these techniques, one can control finely the permanent wavelength shift, which is also large enough to compensate the random wavelength variation due to the random fabrication errors. (paper)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The molybdenum disulfide (MoS2)@ZnO nano-heterojunctions were successfully fabricated through a facile three-step synthetic process: prefabrication of the ZnO nanoparticles, the synthesis of MoS2 nanoflowers, and the fabrication of MoS2@ZnO heterojunctions, in which ZnO nanoparticles were uniformly self-assembled on the MoS2 nanoflowers by utilizing polyethyleneimine as a binding agent. The photocatalytic activities of the composite samples were evaluated by monitoring the photodegradation of methylene blue (MB). Compared with pure MoS2 nanoflowers, the composites show higher adsorption capability in dark and better photocatalytic efficiency due to the increased specific surface area and improved electron-hole pair separation. After irradiation for 100 min, the remaining MB in solution is about 7.3%. Moreover, the MoS2@ZnO heterojunctions possess enhanced field emission properties with lower turn-on field of 3.08 V μm−1and lower threshold field of 6.9 V μm−1 relative to pure MoS2 with turn-on field of 3.65 V μm−1 and threshold field of 9.03 V μm−1

AbstractAbstract
[en] SnO2 nanoparticles were prepared by a photochemical method with different concentrations of PVP as surfactant. The PVP can put regular impact on the size of the particles and the corresponding sensing response to alcohol gas. The optimized sensor of the SnO2 nanoparticles could exhibit a response of ∼21 to 50 ppm alcohol at 270 °C, which is more than 2-folds of that without PVP. The sensor also had excellent stability, repeatability and concentration linear, exhibiting good practicality in alcohol detection. The method is easily-manipulated, low-cost and green for obtaining a gas sensing material. (paper)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We have evaluated the dynamic effects of the analyte diffusion on the 1/e light penetration depths of normal, benign and cancerous human lung tissue in vitro, as well as have monitored and quantified the dynamic change in the light penetration depths of the mentioned human lung tissue after application of 25 % and 50 % glycerol solution, respectively. The light penetration depths of the analyte diffusion in the lung tissue are measured using the Fourierdomain optical coherence tomography (FD-OCT). Experimental results show that the application of glycerol as a chemical agent can significantly enhance light penetration depths into the human normal lung (NL), lung benign granulomatosis (LBG) and lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) tissue. In-depth transport of the glycerol molecules in the NL, LBG and LSCC tissue at a lower glycerol concentration (25 %) are faster than those at a higher glycerol concentration (50 %), and the 1/e light penetration depths at a lower glycerol concentration (25 %) are smaller than those at a higher glycerol concentration (50 %), respectively. Their differences in the maximal 1/e light penetration depths of the NL, LBG and LSCC tissue at a higher and a lower glycerol concentrations were only 8.8 %, 6.8 % and 4.7 %, respectively. AbstractAbstract
[en] X-ray unabsorbed Seyfert 2 galaxies appear to have X-ray absorption column densities that are too low (NH < 1022 cm-2) to explain the absence of broad emission lines in their optical spectra, challenging the standard active galactic nucleus (AGN) unification model. In this Letter, we report Suzaku exposure on the X-ray unabsorbed Seyfert 2 galaxy IRAS F01475-0740, in which a hidden broad-line region was detected through spectropolarimetric observation. The X-ray data show rapid and significant variations on timescales down to 5 ks, indicating that we are viewing its central engine directly. A newly obtained optical spectrum and previous optical/X-ray data suggest that state transition is unlikely in this source. These make IRAS F01475-0740 a very peculiar X-ray unabsorbed Seyfert 2 galaxy which can only be explained by absorption from materials with abnormally high dust-to-gas ratio (by a factor of >4 larger than Galactic). This is in contrast to most AGNs, which typically show dust-to-gas ratios 3-100 times lower than the Galactic.
