AbstractAbstract
[en] The investigation shows that it is very difficult to achieve neutrino mixing of other than the V/sub μ/-ν/sub tau/ type in any minimal SO(10) model in which neutrino masses are generated by the Gell-Mann-Ramond-Slansky mechanism, because of the severe constraints placed on the mass matrix by quark phenomenology

AbstractAbstract
[en] It was noted that there is a connection between the non-linear two-dimensional (2D) models and the scalar curvature r, i.e., when r = -2 the equations of motion of the Liouville and sine-Gordon models were obtained. Further, solutions of various classical nonlinear 2D models can be obtained from the condition that the appropriate curvature two form Ω = 0, which suggests that these models are closely related. This relation is explored further in the classical version by obtaining the equations of motion from the evolution equations, the infinite number of conserved quantities, and the common central charge. The Poisson brackets of the solvable 2D models are specified by the Virasoro algebra. 21 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Parametric instabilities in uv laser matter interaction experiment were investigated, measuring scattered light from target plasmas. Experiments were classified into two categories: (A) time integrated spectroscopic measurement of the scattered light from parametric instabilities at and below quarter critical density, (B) temporally and spectrally resolved measurement of the scattered light from instabilities at/or below critical density

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Cabibbo angle is introduced as a mixing angle of the gauge bosons W/sup +-/ and X/sup +-/ in an 0(4) x U(1) gauge model. Masses of gauge bosons are calculated to be M/sub W/ = 82 (input), M/sub Z/ = √2 M/sub W/ sec γ = 130 (γ is mixing angle, sin2 γ = 0.21), M/sub X/ = 666, and M/sub Y/ = 660, in units GeV. The W/sub μ/sup +-/ and Z/sub μ/0 couple to the familiar charged and neutral currents, respectively. The effective neutrino oscillation angle is found to be the Cabibbo angle

AbstractAbstract
[en] We briefly summarize the results of neutrino mixing in SO(10). This is a prototype of a grand unified theory which utilizes spontaneous symmetry breaking with Higgs scalars. Then, we combine grand unified symmetry with extended technicolor symmetry and obtain neutrino mixing in the framework of dynamical symmetry breaking without Higgs scalars. Finally, we discuss gauge boson masses and neutrino mixing with scalars in an 0(4) x U(1) gauge model

[en] It is assumed that the E8 gauge group of the E8 x E8 heterotic superstring can be broken into SO(10) x SU(4). The mass relations among fermions m/sub u//m/sub d/ = m/sub c//m/sub s/ = m/sub t//m/sub b/ and m/sub ν e//m/sub e/ = m/sub ν mu//m/sub μ/ = m/sub ν tau//m/sub tau/ are discussed. 18 refs
