AbstractAbstract
[en] Double parton collisions give important effects at the LHC and not only in the QCD sector. Given the relatively low threshold and the consequent large rate of production of bb-bar pairs, one expects a large background of double parton collisions to the Higgs boson production and decay via the bb-barW channel, which is one of the most promising discovery channels at the LHC, if the Higgs mass is below the W+W- threshold

AbstractAbstract
[en] CDF has recently measured a large number of double parton scatterings. The observed value of σeff, the non perturbative parameter which characterizes the process, is considerably smaller as compared with the naive expectation. The small value of σeff is likely to be an indication of the importance of the two-body parton correlations in the many-body parton distributions of the proton

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the spirit of a model recently proposed for proton stripping reactions in collisions of relativistic deuterons with nuclei the proton spectrum in the reaction d + p→p + X is calculated and a comparison with available experimental data is performed. Agreement is found till momenta of 250 MeV/c in the deuteron rest frame. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A well-known feature of π-π scattering is that the values of the s-wave scattering lengths αsub(0,2) are expected to be confined within a small region in the (αsub(0),αsub(2)) plane, surrounding a ''universal'' curve whose equation has been given in the existing literature. Numerically, this implies the following bounds: -0.10(<=)msub(π)αsub(0)(<=)0.60 -0.15(<=)msub(π)αsub(2)(<=)0.05, which are commonly accepted as a semiphenomenological property of the process, independent on both the unknown very low and very high energy details

AbstractAbstract
[en] The corrections to the standard theories of coherent nuclear processes due to the triple pomeron interaction of the incoming hadron on different nucleons are studied. Effects of the order of 10% or higher in the range of incident lab momentum from 75 GeV to 500 GeV are foreseen. Their dependence on the momentum transfer, on energy and on the atomic number is studied. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Ksup(deg) regeneration in nuclei is considered in the framework of a Glauber-Regge model, including the contributions in the inelastic intermediate states of both C=+1 and C=-1. The value αsub(ω)(0) = 0,44 is shown to be consistent with recent high-energy experimental data
