AbstractAbstract
[en] The large amount of data accumulated and the opportunities offered by the vertex chamber, give us over the other groups the advantage of a much larger and clean Λ sample. This allow us to probe the production of baryons in e+e- annihilations. The following subjects are presented: results on cross-sections agrees with TASSO; the baryon number seems predominantly conserved locally, inside one jet; a preliminary jet analysis does not suggest a strong preference of gluon jets for Λs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Comparing off-shell anti-KK and anti-pp annihilations with on-shell anti-pp annihilations, clear discontinuities have been noticed in the final state for multiplicities, hadronic temperatures and angular distributions. Since the momentum-energy relationship for the incoming particles is different for virtual and real processes, this can be an indication of the role played by dynamical factors even at low energy

AbstractAbstract
[en] Measurements of the reaction γp → π+π-π0π0p are presented for the photon energy range 20 to 70 GeV. The 1.6 GeV peak in the mass spectrum of the π+π-π0π0 system is shown to decay dominantly to rhosup(+-)πsup(+-)π0. The ratio of rho0π0π0 to rhosup(+-)πsup(+-)π0 is less than 0.15, thus eliminating rhoE as the dominant decay mode of rho' (1600). (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We have investigated the properties of off-shell antiKK and antipp annihilations into pions by using the interactions K-p→Λ+pions at 4.2 GeV/c. The properties considered are multiplicities, hadronic temperatures and angular distributions. These properties appear more akin to those of antipp annihilations in flight than to that of antipp annihilation at rest despite the fact that the annihilation energy is small. (orig.)

(orig.)Primary Subject

AbstractAbstract
[en] Measurements of the reaction γp → pπ+π-π+π- are presented, in which π+π-π+π- systems with masses up to 3 GeV are produced from fragmentation of the incident photon. The reaction is dominated by production of the large peak of the rho'(1600) meson and, at higher masses approx. >= 2 GeV, by production of jet-like 4π systems. The rho'(1600) meson is produced by a predominantly s-channel helicity conserving mechanism. At higher masses there are also indications of rhoπ peaks, of masses 1.3 GeV (the A2 meson) and 1.75 GeV, produced with a recoiling π meson by a mechanism consistent with the Deck effect. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The inclusive production of μ+ in K-p interactions at 4.2 GeV/c has been studied. Both the target fragmentation of the proton into μ+ and the beam fragmentation of the kaon into μ+ have been analyzed with a triple-Regge model. In the pμ-bar+ channel an effective exchange trajectory has been obtained which lies between the K and K(890) trajectories. For the K-μ-bar+ channel a trajectory is found which may be interpreted as a δ trajectory lowered by one-half. (author)

[en] A study is made of the ωπ0 system produced near threshold in the reaction γp -> π+π-π0π0p. A spin-parity analysis shows that the ωπ0 enhancement is consistent with predominant 1+ B(1235) production, with proportional 20% Jsup(P) = 1- background. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The reactions γp -> K+K-π0(p) and γp -> Ksub(S)0Ksup(+-)πsup(-+)(p) have been measured using tagged photons in the energy range 20 to 70 GeV. No resonance structure is observed in either of the Kanti Kπ invariant mass distributions, which range from threshold up to approx.= 3 GeV. The photoproduction cross section for PHIπ0 and Ksup(*)(892)K are presented and are compared with theoretical predictions. No evidence has been found for the photoproduction of PHI'(1680). (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Inclusive photoproduction of deltasup(+-)(980) and Bsup(+-0) (1235) at high xsub(F) is reported. Production of B0 is largely due to double diffractive dissociation. The charged states are produced as leading particles, their production being described by the quark recombination picture. The relatively strong production of the delta(980) by this process is evidence that it is a anti qanti q state rather than a qqanti qanti q state. (orig.)
