AbstractAbstract
[en] The stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of 316Ti and 316NG is studied in acidic SO42- medium by slow strain rate test (SSRT). The results show that sensibility index of SCC of two austenitic stainless steels increase with increasing of the mass fraction of SO42- in medium, and the SCC critical mass fraction of SO42- for 316NG is higher than that for 316Ti, but crack propagation rate of 316NG is quicker than that of 316Ti. The pitting corrosion of two austenitic stainless steels is researched by noble polarization test, the pitting potential of 316NG is higher than that of 316Ti. The SSRT-SCC mechanism is analyzed based on the microcosmic structure and test data

AbstractAbstract
[en] The compatibility tests for the forging tungsten with coolants are performed in sodium at 500, 600 and 700 degree C, and in water at 100 degree C. The results show: a compact WxOy film is formed at the surface of the tungsten, its thickness is about 1 - 2 μm. There are also corrosion product NaxWOy on the surface of the specimens, the amount of NaxWOy dependents on the temperature and the oxygen content in the sodium. After test for more than 400 h, the matrix of tungsten is not attacked further by sodium and oxygen resulting from the protection of the WxOy film, the thickness of WxOy film and the weight loss become a constant; for the corrosion of the tungsten in water, a WxOy film at the specimen surface is formed at the beginning of the test, its thickness is about 0.8 μm; This film is porous and loose, and they peels off after test for more than 100 h. The new oxide film does not form again because of the lack of the oxygen, the weight loss of the specimens is near a constant

AbstractAbstract
[en] It was studied that the effects of chloride ions and dissolved oxygen on stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behavior of 316LN stainless steel in simulated primary loop of pressure water reactor (PWR) under abnormal water chemistry conditions with slow strain rate test (SSRT) method. The results show that in saturated oxygen condition, the extension of specimens decreases gradually while the SCC sensitive index increases with the increase of chloride ions concentration. In addition, the samples will produce SCC in the case that the concentration of chloride ions is more than 1 mg/L. However, cracks are not initiated in de-aerated solution even if the concentration of chloride ions increases to 10 mg/L. The stress corrosion cracks of 316LN are initiated in defects or Cr-depleted zones at the surface and transgranularly propagates into the base metal. (authors)
