Low-frequency observations of the NGC 2264 emission nebula
AbstractAbstract
[en] Observations of the HII region NGC 2264 have been carried out with the radio telescope UTR-2 at the frequencies 12.6, 14.7, 16.7, 20, 25 MHz. The half-power resolution of the instrument is 28'x36' at 25 MHz. The maps of brightness distribution over the source are presented for each observation frequency. The HII region is seen reliably in absorption at all frequencies. The electron temperature of the HII nebula is 4100+-2500 K, the emisssion measure is 275 cm-6 pc, the electron density is 2.7 cm-3. The average volume density of the non-thermal radio emission between the Sun and the nebula is 108+-20 K pc-1 at 12.6 MHz
