Office Hours with KPMG Ísland Office hours is an additional service of the KLAK - Venture Mentoring Service, where former participants of KLAK's business accelerators and Dafna can book 30-minute meetings with experienced experts from the group of mentors or from KLAK VMS partners, free of charge. At the meetings, participants have the opportunity to receive practical advice and guidance related to the development and operation of their start-up company. Examples of topics include legal issues, intellectual property and human resources. On November 21st, experts from KPMG will offer Office Hours meetings in Groska. For more than a decade, KPMG has been a strong supporter of startup companies and an active participant in the development of the innovation environment in Iceland. KPMG provides startups, investors and others related to innovation with diverse services and advice in the field of auditing and accounting, legal and tax matters as well as consulting services. Furthermore, KPMG has a partnership with ECIT's accounting and payroll services. At any given time, there are usually around 100-150 startups doing business with KPMG across all service lines. Anna Guðrún Gunnlaugsdóttir, accountant at KPMG, and Kjartan Ottósson from KPMG's corporate consultancy will discuss the preparation of annual accounts and tax returns, investor presentations, planning and more with interested companies. Recently, mentors from KLAK - Venture Mentoring Service gathered at Gróðurhúsið in Gróska. They enjoyed presentations from startups, received information about the teams that have been accepted into the Startup Tourism accelerator, and had the perfect opportunity to strengthen their connections with each other 🥂✨ 📸 Eygló Gísladóttir

Ten teams have been selected to participate in the Startup Tourism business accelerator, organized by KLAK - Icelandic Startups, which begins on October 28th. Applications came in from all regions of the country, featuring ideas ranging from new tourist destinations to tech solutions and service concepts. “Vísindaferð of the Golden Egg”, an organized event where university students visit companies, was held with great fanfare last Friday. Exciting companies supporting the Golden Egg, the grandest and oldest entrepreneurial competition in Iceland, were present and engaged in discussions with 800 university students. Jenna Bjork Gudmundsdottir, Project Manager of the Golden Egg, and Asta Sollilja Gudmundsdottir, CEO of KLAK - Icelandic Startups, were interviewed by Stöð 2. Reykjavik University, University of Iceland (Háskóli Íslands), Hugverkastofan - Icelandic Intellectual Property Office (ISIPO), Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Iceland, Össur, Rannís - The Icelandic Centre for Research, KPMG Ísland, Hedinn, Landsbankinn, Orkusalan, Origo Iceland, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Committee of Reykjavík University, and KLAK - Icelandic Startups had exhibition booths on two floors in Gróska hugmyndahús - Innovation House.
