It is never easy to say good-bye.
Especially, when you have worked closely with such a diligent and inspiring collective like this one over two years.
We have created amazing project results, each challenging how we communicate about climate change and enriching the knowledge about floods and adaptation tools.
But most of all, we have collectively managed to bring together an audience across many different countries and generations and forge a great network of Flood Stoppers.
Instead, we would like to say thank you.
Thank you to our partners, Area Europa - Development Consulting, The Right Street Digital, SpostaMenti Associazione, Univerza v Mariboru, lowcarboneconomy, Infinitivity Design Labs, Saint Joseph Greek-French High School, and Livadia Regional Lyceum for your commitment and all the work you put into this project.
Thank you to all the students that have participated in our final Brussels event and showcased your fantastic presentations and tools you’ve prepared.
And thank you to all that have followed our two-year-long journey.
We wish you the happiest of holidays and hope that you will continue to follow and use our project results in the years to come.
Happy Holidays!
Your Flood Stopping

Earlier this month, our partner, The Right Street, organised and hosted an engaging three-day event in Brussels.
At this event, we focused on sharing what we had learnt collectively over the past two years about climate change and flood risk management and why EU projects like Flood Stopping are crucial.
On the morning of December 11th, Lorenzo Marchese from The Right Street organised an event titled “How to Communicate about Climate Change.” Along with a panel of experts, including Gianluca Corzani from Area Europa - Development Consulting, he presented how vital it is to think about how we present these crucial topics understandably and transparently.

One topic, many associations.
Our panel on “How to Communicate About Climate Change?” made quite an impression on our audience members.
But one thing is evident - more needs to be done about it.
Flood Stopping is an incredible #ErasmusPlus project that we are very proud to coordinate. This week, we’re thrilled to wrap up the project’s final activities in Brussels, hosted by the amazing team of The Right Street, with impactful dissemination and outreach events taking place.
One of today’s highlights was a panel featuring our very own Gianluca Corzani, where he dived into key topics on climate change communication.
He reminded us of a central aspect for projects in general and for educational projects in particular: tackling climate challenges means recognising their cross-cutting nature — affecting and connecting diverse sectors, communities, and education systems. This is why we strategically incorporate the topic in the projects we are involved in and embrace continuous learning ourselves, so that we can keep up with climate science and good practices!
Flood Stopping has pursued ambitious and meaningful goals, including:
➡️ Empowering high school teachers with tools to integrate flood risk management and climate change adaptation into curricula. 🌍
➡️ Engaging students through international experiences, shared perception tests, and community mapping to better understand flood risk. 👩🎓👨🎓
➡️ Boosting digital competencies, from creating infographics and maps to fostering active citizenship—ensuring that even disadvantaged learners are included. 💻📊
➡️ Developing innovative digital teaching and learning content. 🖥️📚
➡️ Bringing together families, citizens, public administrations, companies, and education systems to create collaborative, community-based solutions. 🤝🏘️

Thank you to all the partners, educators, and learners who made this initiative a success. Let’s continue building a resilient, sustainable future together! 💡

While sustainability and climate change are topics of utmost importance, according to Ogilvy’s report, 84% of influencers avoid discussing them online. Why? For the sheer fear of being accused of greenwashing.
With the increasing need to adapt to the ever-changing state of our climate, how can we effectively communicate/educate about it? How do we balance information sharing and community building?
Join us for our “How to Communicate About Climate Change?” event. We will discuss how to talk about this crucial topic and showcase successful cases like the EU-funded project Flood Stopping, which focuses on educating people about floods and their devastating impact.

Once the floodwaters recede, the road to recovery begins. Here's how to safely manage the situation and help restore normalcy:
🏠 Inspect and Enter with Caution: Only re-enter your home when it's declared safe by authorities. Watch out for structural damage that could make buildings unsafe.
🧼 Clean Up Safely: Wear protective gear like gloves and boots during cleanup to avoid contact with contaminated water. Prioritise drying out your home to prevent mould, which can grow rapidly.
🚰 Water Safety: Assume all water is contaminated. Use only bottled, boiled, or treated water for drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene until local authorities declare the tap water safe.
🤝 Support Recovery Efforts: Help neighbors, especially the elderly, disabled, and those with young children. Community solidarity is crucial in overcoming the challenges left by the flood.
Stay informed and prepared to tackle the challenges post-flood. Recovery is a community effort, and every small action contributes to larger resilience.
