Established in 1882, the school is dedicated to training secondary vocational students (ages 14-19) in diverse fields like agriculture, food production, chemistry, non-metals, and graphic design. 🌱 A Hands-On Learning Environment: With over 100 hectares of arable land, state-of-the-art labs for microbiology and chemistry, a bakery, a veterinary clinic, and animal stables, students gain critical, hands-on experience right on campus. 🌍 Education for Sustainable Development: Driven by the education standards of leading European countries, the school emphasizes sustainable practices while preserving core traditional values. Presenting Mediterráneo International — one of our Vocational Education and Training Schools in The Food Odyssey Project! 🌿🍴🌍 ✨ A Sustainable and International Hub for Culinary Excellence ✨ Based in Valencia, Spain, the Mediterráneo Culinary Center (MCC) is a distinguished VET school specialising in Cooking, Gastronomy, Dietetics, and Nutrition. With over 20 years of experience and recognition from the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Valencian Community, MCC offers a range of programs from Intermediate and Higher Education Vocational Training to master’s degrees and postgraduate courses. The center also issues diplomas, monographs, and certificates of professionalism, cultivating future culinary leaders. MCC’s community includes approximately 200 students and 20 dedicated staff, with a student demographic of 16-30 years old and up to 30% immigrants. As an Erasmus+ hosting institution, MCC welcomes more than 500 students from across Europe each year, fostering a dynamic international atmosphere. Sustainability is at the heart of MCC’s mission. With a comprehensive sustainability plan addressing energy saving, water consumption, and waste management, the school integrates eco-conscious values directly into the classroom. Calling all public health enthusiasts! 📢 Help us inspire healthier eating by sharing the #SwitchToWholeGrains challenge with your network. 🌾𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬?🌾 #WholeGrains are a cornerstone of a healthy diet, offering significant benefits such as reducing the risk of heart disease, improving digestion, and supporting overall well-being. Despite these advantages, many people still don't include enough whole grains in their diets. 🚧𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬? 🚧 The reasons vary from lack of knowledge on how to cook whole grains, difficulties identifying them in the supermarket, to misconceptions about their taste or benefits. EUFIC is launching the #SwitchToWholeGrains challenge to tackle these barriers starting in November. This initiative provides practical, engaging ways to help people overcome these challenges, from chef-created whole grain recipes (developed by the LIFE Climate Smart Chefs EU-funded project) to tips that simplify meal prep and shopping for whole grains. 🤝𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩?🤝 By sharing this initiative within your networks, you can help amplify the message and make a real impact on people's diets.
