Not Vital at the bARTh art space Today marks the end of the exhibition featuring works by Swiss artist Not Vital in our bARTh art space. On display, for example, was a 3.5-meter-long, oversized rod made of polished stainless steel. The work, titled "Walking Stick," is more than just an enlarged depiction of a walking stick – it is a symbol of travel, discovery, and the nomadic lifestyle. A special focus for the artist is a project featuring the sculptures “Cow Dung.” These are life-sized cow patties cast in bronze, a project Not Vital began in 1989 after a trip to Nepal. Since then, part of the proceeds has been donated to children in Nepal. Not Vital (b. 1948 in Sent) is a Swiss artist who has traveled and exhibited widely since the 1970s, living between the United States, Niger, Italy, Brazil and China. His art is inspired by his nomadic lifestyle and experiences of travelling the globe, reflecting on habitations, nature and animals, and on the relationships between sculpture and architecture. He explores abstract and figurative forms with materials like steel, marble, and ceramic. Collaborating with global craftsmen, his works are striking in scale and presence. Thank you to everyone who attended the exhibition. A special thanks to curator Christian Schwienbacher and the fundaziun notvital for the collaboration. Cabinet of curiosities at the Unesco World Heritage site St. Johann Monastery In the underground civil protection shelter of the St. Johann Monastery in Müstair in Switzerland, a newly designed Schaulager (show storage) offers a glimpse into the monastery's hidden treasures. Conceptualized by Atelier Schauder Und, the exhibition showcases interlace stones and other archaeological finds, providing insight into the rich heritage of this Unesco World Heritage. The artifacts, dating back over 1,200 years, are thoughtfully presented with information panels and maps, marking the first step in the renewal and expansion of the monastery museum by the Pro Kloster St. Johann Foundation. We supplied the shelving walls, base cabinets, and glass-fronted elements for the exhibition furniture. Sensoria - Haus der Düfte und Aromen: A sensory journey through the world of fragrances and flavors The town of Holzminden is an internationally important centre for the fragrance and flavour industry. The foundation stone was set in 1874 with the invention of vanillin, the world’s most widely used flavouring agent. Between the River Weser and the historic old town, a new centre for the experience of scents and aromas – Sensoria – is built: This 1,000 m² space features a dramatic, sensory exhibition with six interactive themed islands, culminating in the Perfumers’ Laboratory, where visitors can create their own fragrances. At the top of the course, in the "Perfumers‘ Laboratory", visitors can take on the role of perfumers themselves and create their own fragrance compositions. On the roof of the building there is an evergreen fragrance garden, which is the crowning glory of a visit to the exhibition, offering visitors a panoramic view of the city, the factories and the Weser Hills. We are proud to have made a valuable contribution to the successful implementation of this extraordinary project, in collboration with Studio nowakteufelknyrim. Why does ice cream taste like summer? Why is lavender so calming? Dive into a world of sensory experiences! #Sensoria #FragranceExperience #FlavorJourney #InteractiveExhibition #CreativeSpaces #barthproject #buildingtomorrowsinteriors #since1877 Photography by Juliane Herrmann

Do you remember last year’s barth winebox? Crafted from solid larch wood and designed by Patricia Viel of ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, Milan, it wasn’t just a box—it was a sensory journey. Patricia Viel described it perfectly: "The goal was to make the connoisseur forget the wine is in a bottle, and the bottle is in a box." With thoughtful details like a serving cloth and cooling sleeves, the 21st edition brought the philosophy "Enjoy authentic taste, wherever, whenever" to life. And now… we’re working on something new. Can you guess what it might be? #barthWineBox #DesignAndCraftsmanship #PatriciaViel #ACPVArchitects #WineJourney #waitingfor #newedition #barthprojects

Today marks the closing of the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. Curated by Adriano Pedrosa, the first Latin American curator in the Biennale’s history, the exhibition, titled "Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere," delved into themes of migration, exile, and the experiences of outsiders. Established in 1895, La Biennale di Venezia has become one of the most prestigious cultural institutions globally, leading the way in exploring and promoting contemporary art trends across its diverse departments. For its debut participation in the Architecture Biennale in Venice in 2018, the Vatican presented a truly unique project: "Vatican Chapels." This initiative featured ten chapels constructed on a vast wooded estate on the Venetian island of San Giorgio Maggiore, each designed by a renowned international architect. We were privileged to contribute to this remarkable project by crafting the benches and the altar for the chapel designed by Japanese architect Terunobu Fujimori, celebrated for his surreal and sustainable use of natural building materials.
