Big announcement landing! Drumroll please... #dbaudio x Dubai Yes, we’re officially launching d&b audiotechnik Middle East 🤩 Setting up a subsidiary here is a major milestone that will profoundly influence the region’s cultural landscape, bringing our signature tech – like #dbSoundscape for immersive audio experiences and flagship #SLseries speakers – to new audiences. Plus, we can inspire local artists, stadiums, performing arts centres, hospitality operators, themed attractions and other event spaces 🙌 And it all makes perfect sense. We’ve been collaborating on more and more projects across the region, and will be able to work more closely with our partner network. FYI we’re already Official Technology Partner of the Dubai Opera and there’s a regional training program in place. The new business will be home to a dedicated regional team for sales, distribution, product education and support. Heading it all up will be Brad Maiden as General Manager. Theatre acoustics lacking vitality and life? Auditorium suffering from difficult, dry sound, devoid of character? Luckily d&b has some #ProSound conditioner to restore the shine. A treatment recently received by New York’s Marquis Theater, which hosted a summer revival of iconic 1970s musical The Wiz – as told by Live Design Online: https://bit.ly/416qjeg #SoundDesigner Jon Weston Design had previously encountered the acoustically-challenged space, but this time came #dbaudio prepared: - ArrayCalc to ensure even sound coverage - En-Space software to virtually remodel the acoustics, particularly the anechoic-like under-balcony area, and to provide helpful sonic reflections for performers on stage - #dbSoundscape to enhance the sonic storytelling by playing with audio perception “With d&b Soundscape, I was able to address spatialization with much more granularity, and the ceiling dimension of the En-Space model enabled me to ‘raise the roof’ for the audience” – Jon Weston Result: rich, lifelike sound, with performers fully in the zone and the audience totally engaged.

Sound System Mastery in Backnang! Last week, I had a wonderful experience attending the d&b audiotechnik Sound System Optimisation Seminar and wow, what an experience. It was an eye-opening seminar where I delved deep into the nuances of optimizing sound systems. A key takeaway was the in-depth understanding of time alignment, which involves getting all PA system elements perfectly tuned and calibrated for flawless sound reproduction. We also explored REW tuning software, Haas precedence effect and much much more. And that’s just scratching the surface! The seminar was packed with practical knowledge, hands-on training, and valuable tips for both beginners and seasoned pros.
