🌍EnGreen and GME Group have been awarded a new project funded by UNDP Ethiopia in collaboration with the Ethiopian Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity. This project, promoted under the Africa Minigrids Program, aims at accelerating the development of renewable mini-grids and it will address two key components: ✅ Policies & Regulations – Supporting the adoption of policies and frameworks that facilitate investment in renewable mini-grids. ✅ Business Model Innovation & Private Sector Engagement – Driving cost reduction strategies and innovative business models to enhance private sector participation. 🚀 The kick-off is happening now, and we’re excited to start this impactful journey! Siamo lieti di annunciare una nuova collaborazione tra BIP Law & Tax e la CER NEWT.O.N., quest’ultima nata grazie al supporto tecnico di EnGreen! Lo studio legale avrà un ruolo cruciale nella strutturazione e nell'avvio della comunità energetica nazionale, garantendo trasparenza, assistenza tecnica e soluzioni su misura per il territorio. Questa partnership rappresenta un passo fondamentale per facilitare l’adesione alle CER e promuovere un modello di energia condivisa e sostenibile. Il 21 febbraio 2025, alle ore 17:30, presso la sala Corneli di Villa Filiani a Pineto, si terrà la presentazione ufficiale della CER NEWT.O.N. e della prima configurazione CER di Pineto. La Cooperativa NEWTON nasce con un obiettivo ambizioso: promuovere e gestire configurazioni di Comunità Energetiche Rinnovabili su tutto il territorio italiano, facilitando l’adesione di cittadini, imprese ed enti locali a un modello di produzione e condivisione dell’energia sostenibile. La nascita della CER di Pineto è il primo tassello di questa visione. Grazie all’installazione di un impianto fotovoltaico su un edificio scolastico pubblico, la comunità potrà beneficiare di energia pulita e condivisa. 🇬🇧 Our Francesco Roncallo and Jonathan Ambrogi just came back from two days in Kolda in the lush Haute-Casamance region of Senegal where they attended the "Foire de l'emploi vert" organised by IOM - UN Migration and VIS Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo. This has been a great opportunity to present EnGreen's work on rural electrification, productive uses of energy in agriculture, and research to both Senegalese and international institutions as well as a very energetic crowd of students, farmers, and local NGOs/associations. It has been very interesting to collect feedback on the local energy needs, off-grid energy potential, as well as experiencing the ferment of all local participants. Thank you Kolda! 🇫🇷 Nos Francesco Roncallo et Jonathan Ambrogi viennent de rentrer de deux jours à Kolda dans la luxuriante région de Haute-Casamance au Sénégal où ils ont assisté à la « Foire de l'emploi vert » organisée par IOM - UN Migration et VIS Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo. Ce fut une excellente occasion de présenter le travail d'EnGreen sur l'électrification rurale, les utilisations productives de l'énergie dans l'agriculture et la recherche aux institutions sénégalaises et internationales ainsi qu'à une foule très énergique d'étudiants, d'agriculteurs et d'ONG/associations locales. 🔹 EnGreen in Comoros: Advancing Sustainable Energy Access 🔹 EnGreen continues its commitment in Comoros, working towards improving energy access and making the service more reliable, efficient, and sustainable. After several field missions, during the latest visit, our colleague Carlo Tacconelli finalized the feasibility studies and presented the findings to United Nations' Africa Minigrids Program and key national stakeholders. The goal? ✅ Increase energy access saturation ✅ Enhance service affordability through optimized tariffs ✅ Improve the performance of the national utility (SONELEC) by reducing losses and making the energy supply more reliable and cost-effective. The pilot study involves three villages across three different islands, each testing a tailored energy solution. Additionally, EnGreen has been supporting PNUD COMORES in identifying other potential sites for future installations, ensuring a long-term pathway for expanding clean energy solutions across Comoros under the Africa Minigrids Program. With the support of UNDP, we are paving the way for a scalable and replicable model that will significantly improve the lives of local communities.
