🏆 60/60 successfully installed. The #MorayWest wind farm, an offshore project led by OW Ocean Winds, has successfully completed the installation of its last turbine. This project is set to make history in offshore wind energy. When we add ambition to the formula of expertise and multiply it by innovation, the result could only be = a successful super-project. Interesting to note: 🌊 Moray West, 882 MW, will be fully operational in 2025; 🌊 Each turbine can reach an output of 14.7 MW, making them the largest commercial offshore turbines in Europe; 🌊 Over its lifetime, the project is expected to inject 800 million pounds into the Scottish economy and has already created more than 1,500 FTE years in the region during construction. A huge bravo to all our teams for their outstanding work. We will remain committed to developing new projects that prioritize community involvement and drive the transition to renewable energy in Ireland. Check out photos of the installation below. #offshore

EDP has just announced its financial highlights for the first nine months of 2024. Our recurring net profit increased by 7% year-on-year, reaching €1,095 million. This growth was driven by strong performance from electricity distribution in Brazil and hydro resources in Iberia. Additionally, our recurring EBITDA rose by 1% year-over-year to €3,879 million, with our electricity networks seeing a 14% increase in EBITDA, now representing 33% of our EBITDA, thanks to significant growth in Brazil and Portugal. Our commitment to the energy transition is evident, as 96% of our €3,407 million total investment has gone towards renewable energy projects and electricity networks. As a result, renewable generation has grown by 18%, and 97% of our total electricity now comes from renewable sources, leading to a 73% reduction in CO2 emissions intensity (scopes 1 & 2). Please join us tomorrow, November 8th, at 8:30 AM (GMT), for the webcast presentation of EDP's third-quarter results at http://ms.spr.ly/6043WwOWx. #EDPWeChooseEarth #EnergyTransition

🍕 Ciao Milano It's a wrap! Enlit Europe has ended, but we're still savoring the vibrant energy we experienced there. Leading experts and key players from the energy and technology sectors gathered in Milan for this year's event, and EDP was at the heart of it all. Our experts covered a broad spectrum of topics, fueling three days of fruitful discussions, knowledge exchanges, and networking with industry peers, further solidifying our stance as a global leader in Europe. Looking ahead, these collaborative efforts not only underscore our commitment to climate action but also showcase our resilience and pave the way for a sustainable energy future. A heartfelt thank you to all colleagues who represented EDP so remarkably. We are definitely on the right track.

🌍 It's World Mental Health Day Today, let's shift our focus from renewable assets to the heart and soul behind them. Our employees are our main asset and a priority for us 365 days a year. As a company, we will continue to invest in mental and emotional well-being and promote actions that contribute to a healthy and supportive working environment. On this World Mental Health Day, we’re proud to highlight our "It’s OK" campaign - a movement that goes beyond awareness. It encourages open conversations about mental health, free of stigma, and promotes a community of empathy, where seeking help is not only accepted but embraced. “It’s OK” to ask for help. “It’s OK” to prioritize your mental health. And “It’s OK” if you're not feeling OK - because we assure you, together, we’ll navigate the tough times. Using the universal "OK" gesture as a symbol of support, let’s check in with each other and keep the conversation going. Drop a 👌 in the comments to show your support! #MentalHealth #WMHD2024 #PrioritizeMentalHealthInTheWorkplace

⏫ Italy, here we grow again! Today, we're thrilled to announce the grid connection of Italy's largest utility-scale solar project. With an installed capacity of 72 MWp, this renewable asset will generate 66 GWh of clean energy annually and is expected to avoid more than 28,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year and supply energy to more than 25,000 homes in the Lazio region. "This project boosts energy independence and strengthens the Italian energy system, aligning with Italy’s National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC), which targets up to 80 GW of photovoltaic capacity by 2030," highlights Roberto Pasqua, Executive Director of Southern and Eastern Europe at EDP Renewables. Congratulations to our Italian teams on these great successes, which are proof of our daily commitment to helping our stakeholders achieve their decarbonization goals, develop renewable energies and ensure the reliability of the energy system. 🌍 When empathy meets purpose, magic happens. Storm Boris has recently ravaged Central and Eastern Europe, bringing torrential rains and flooding that have impacted the entire continent, with southern Poland facing significant challenges. EDP has been actively engaged in the Polish market since 2007. In response to this catastrophe, we have decided to support the State Fire Service by donating photovoltaic installations and power generators. These installations, which should be completely operational in early 2025, will provide firefighters with greater energy independence, allowing them to minimize the risk associated with a power grid failure, enabling them to secure more effective and faster assistance. Our dedication to the communities we serve extends beyond immediate aid. For years, we have fostered partnerships with local municipalities, engaging in educational and recreational programs that strengthen our ties and further our commitment to the energy transition. These efforts are vital as we work together towards achieving Poland's ambitious energy goals. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/dD_8Jkpm

🌬 What a week at #WindEnergyHamburg! This week, the wind blew from the southwest, leading us to one of Europe's most significant wind fairs. Topics like repowering, grid interconnection challenges, and new energy storage solutions topped the agenda. EDPR was excellently represented by a multidisciplinary team that, over the past few days, demonstrated the resilience that drives us, the expertise that pushes us to go further, and the ambition to achieve increasingly lofty goals. Christian Barba, our International Business Development and Storage Director, participated in the session "Accelerating Industry Electrification." In his keynote, he emphasized that a renewable future hinges on energy storage, showcasing some of the innovative solutions and projects we've recently developed. There was also time for fruitful conversations, discussions about the future of wind energy, new connections, and interviews that underscore our commitment to accelerating the energy transition. We invite you to read the interview with Pedro Vinagre, EDPR's Executive Director in North and Central Europe, highlights that Germany will be our main growth engine in Europe: https://lnkd.in/dSsgT2u7 EDPR is well-positioned to capture additional growth in the German market. We are committed to implementing the solutions we believe will lead us to a net-zero future and expanding our portfolio, hand in hand with AI, to optimize operations, enhance efficiency, and drive innovation in the wind sector.
