🚨 𝐀 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭! ✒ Our researchers were contributing to the new paper "Unlocking the potential of melting calorimetry: a field protocol for liquid water content measurement in snow" published in The Cryosphere 📰 Melting calorimetry, a classic experiment often conducted in high-school chemistry laboratories, holds significant untapped potential for scientific applications beyond its educational context. ❄ This research revisits the formulations for both melting and freezing calorimeters to assess volumetric liquid water content in snow. 💦 Melting calorimetry can potentially serve as a valuable tool for the independent calibration and validation of proximal and remote sensing techniques used for liquid water content retrieval. 👓 Read the paper here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eQVviHHd #calorimetry #snowpack #water

📣 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐜𝐤-𝐨𝐟𝐟 📅 Today we have taken part together with Università degli Studi di Padova (UNIPD) / University of Padua, our colleagues from Center for Climate Change and Transformation – Eurac Research Center for Sensing Solutions - Eurac Research in the kick-off of HAST- Hydrological Atlas South Tyrol, both funded and led the Agency for Civil Protection of the Provincia Autonoma di Bolzano - Land Südtirol ☁ The main objective of the project is to update, validate and harmonize the data, products and analyses of quantitative hydrology available in South Tyrol and to realize a web platform dedicated to water where such information can be made accessible in a simple, organic and free way. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eENMkgaA 📸 Annelie Bortolotti/Eurac Research

📣 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐜𝐤-𝐨𝐟𝐟 On December 05th, the ESA Copernicus Earth Observation Processor Framework (EOPF) Sample Service project started officially! ☁️ The goal is to guide the Copernicus users to switch to a new cloud-native data format: Zarr.
