'Zona Pública' by Gabriel Cisneros and Alejandro Campins is now open at GALLERIA CONTINUA / Habana! GALLERIA CONTINUA presents 'Zona Pública', an exhibition by Cuban artists Alejandro Campins and Gabriel Cisneros that reexamines the role of monuments in public spaces. Through resin sculptures, Cisneros reshapes familiar statuary forms, giving them intimate, introspective postures that invite a fresh look at power, identity, and memory. Campins’s paintings and photographs from his Declaración Pública series depict abandoned amphitheaters and platforms, echoing the silence and transformation of public spaces over time. Together, the artworks create a dialogue on the symbolic value of monuments and public spaces, questioning how they shape, and are shaped by, community narratives.
