MCO - Fondazione Missioni Consolata Onlus ONG

MCO is Christian-based non-governmental organization founded by the Consolata Missions Institute, a religious institute composed by members from different countries founded in 1901 and active in Africa, Latin America and Asia. It is recognised by the Italian MoFA as a qualified NGO since December 2007. MCO has headquarters ad operations offices in Turin and Rome. MCO is also the publisher of the Missioni Consolata magazine, a point of reference for those who are interested in development, cooperation and missionary work in the Global North as in the South. The activities of MCO are primarily focused on four main areas: - health care - education and training - slums and marginalised urban areas - indigenous peoples' rights and, within these broad areas, it runs projects in training, information, microcredit support to women and young people, agricultural development, water supply and sanitation, conflict resolution. MCO supports the work of the Consolata missionaries in: Angola, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the DR Congo, South Korea, Côte d'Ivoire, Ecuador, eSwatini, Ethiopia, Italy, Kenya, Liberia, Mexico, Mongolia, Mozambique, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, UK, Spain, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, USA and Venezuela. Vision MCO is committed to contributing to human, spiritual, social and economic development of the human beings through the liberation from oppression, violence and poverty. Our actions is based on the values of justice, peace, the dialogue between peoples and religions, and collaboration with all the expressions of international civil society who share the same commitment. Mission Drawing on the experience gained over more than a century by the Consolata Missionaries, MCO carries out development cooperation projects and initiatives. The widespread, long-lasting and constant presence in the field and the active participation of local people in the cooperation initiatives are the main features of our method.
