Milestone fu fondata nel 1988 dalla mente e dal fiuto di Franco Visinoni come un’azienda dedicata a fornire alla comunità scientifica internazionale la più avanzata strumentazione a microonde e non per laboratori di chimica analitica e organica. La sede di Milestone si trova a Sorisole (Bergamo). I suoi uffici ricoprono più di 4.000 metri quadri con ampie sale seminari che ricevono gli ospiti internazionali che settimanalmente vengono a farci visita per scoprire i nostri ultimi sviluppi tecnologici, sempre in regola con le rigide legislazioni internazionali in materia di sicurezza. La nostra struttura comprende una filiale negli Stati Uniti, in Giappone e in Korea. Inoltre, una fitta rete di rappresentanti esclusivi in tutto il mondo promuove i nostri prodotti. 🔬This new research on mercury levels in Galápagos crabs is critical for understanding environmental health impacts on marine ecosystems and local food safety. Researchers from Department of Earth and Biological Sciences Loma Linda University, in collaboration with the Origins Museum of Nature, have found that Grapsus grapsus crabs🦀 contain mercury levels that could pose health risks if consumed. The study was performed using our 𝗗𝗠𝗔-𝟴𝟬 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺. It revealed mercury concentrations up to 0.51 mg/kg in some areas, surpassing safe consumption limits established by U.S. and European standards, comparable to mercury-heavy fish like marlin. Surprisingly, high levels were found even in pristine, uninhabited parts of the Galápagos, pointing to natural sources like volcanic activity and potential unknown factors contributing to contamination. Given the health risks associated with mercury, especially for vulnerable populations, researchers aim to expand this study to better understand the sources and effects of mercury in these remote ecosystems.
