Film editing is related to bending time. My passion for #filmmaking started in the late nineties when I was in Venice in my early twenties, thanks to one of the first digital editing systems that a friend put in my hands, asking me to help him edit a wedding film of some Japanese tourists.
I didn’t attend any cinema school, but from that moment, the timeline became my playground whether I was editing my stuff or other director’s. For almost two decades, without even realizing that, I took care of time. And I learn how some milliseconds difference can dramatically change the perception of the audience and mine as well.
When I started my career, my first jobs were in the music business, and #music is also a question of time like when, from the chaos of creation, things magically align for a few moments when a band is playing together.
When lately, I realized that the federation of the editors’ associations is called Tempo (@Tempofilmeditors), everything appeared so clear to me. I must admit that it is by far the best name I have ever heard. A perfect fit to represent a group of artists that don’t use colors or notes but time.
When the opportunity arose to sponsor Tempo's annual event in Rome, Mnemonica was ready. Thanks to AMC and Natalie Cristiani for opening a direct channel and getting involved in this beautiful experience. The relationship between the #editorial department and us contributed massively to the development of our platform since day one and we will always be grateful for this.
👉 As announced during the event, more things will come in the near future.
Stay tuned!
