  • Meet MAREA, Marea stands at the intersection of design and engineering, marking a pivotal milestone in footwear technology. Using FDM technology and leveraging Signed Distance Fields (SDF), we successfully printed a functionally modified TPMS gyroid lattice—a complex and intricate geometry once thought unattainable. To push boundaries even further, we developed a proprietary support algorithm that maximized print capabilities and optimized material efficiency, resulting in a feather-light final weight of just 350g. The design draws inspiration from the fluid motion of tidal waves, with an undulating pattern capturing the ocean’s movement, a tribute reflected in its name. Marea demonstrates that with the right tools, the impossible can be made possible. Recreus Footwearology #fdm #computationaldesign #footwear

  • Another important contribution of our collaboration with Mondo Sport&Flooring was the creation of digital and visual athletes who correctly represent the interaction between the track and footwear. By creating footwear elements that represent the dynamism and the values of Mondo in pushing the boundaries of innovation. Data visualization is crucial when explaining advanced engineering concepts, another important layer in our collaboration with Mondo was the concept and development of digital footwear designed to test and improve track performance. Our design embodies the dynamism and innovation of Mondo, with digital and visual athletes showcasing the synergy between track and footwear. In addition, this helped develop the digital assets used in the Mondo Press Kit for the Olympic Games Paris 2024. #Paris2024 #mondosport #computationaldesign
