The NATURAL POWER LIFE project aims at sustainably replacing hazardous herbicides and biocides with pelargonic acid-based products produced from renewable sources thus reducing the impact of synthetic herbicides and biocides on the environment. The project will: • extend to the European market two broad-spectrum herbicides based on pelargonic acid, one for non-crop amenities and one for agricultural activities. • introduce a new formulation of broad-spectrum biocide based on pelargonic acid. All three products are produced from renewable sources, more specifically from vegetable oil, following a standardized process that does not use ozone in the oxidative cleavage reaction of the vegetable oil. The application of the pelargonic acid-based herbicide for non-crop amenities (municipalities, industrial areas, cemeteries, roads, railways, and other non-cultivated areas) will be extended in at least 3 EU countries (Spain, Germany, and Greece) other than Italy. The application of pelargonic acid-based herbicide for agricultural activities will be extended in at least six agrarian activities, in at least 2 EU countries other than Italy (Spain and Greece), and in 4 agricultural activities in Italy (hazelnut crop, pome fruit, tobacco, and vegetable crops). The performance of the pelargonic acid-based biocide will be demonstrated to initiate pre-marketing activities and launch its large-scale production. The project has the following long-term sustainability goals: • To demonstrate the replicability of the product application in different geographical areas and for different applications. • To assess the environmental, economic, and social sustainability of the products.

We are proud to share that our partner, Novamont, contributed to this transformative event through a series of thematic conferences, including an inspiring session focused on accelerating regulatory progress. 🌱 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐌 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐥 🌍 We are thrilled to have participated in the ABIM - Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting held in Basel from October 21-23, 2024! 🎉 ABIM is the premier gathering for the biocontrol industry, bringing together 2,000+ participants from 67 countries to discuss innovations and regulatory advancements driving sustainable agriculture forward. This year, the NATURAL POWER LIFE team: ▪️ Connected with key stakeholders in the European agriculture market. ▪️ Attended insightful sessions on regulatory aspects of the biosolution market and its global outlook. ▪️ Hosted a technical meeting at the AGRI 2000 NET S.R.L. booth, collaborating with partners both in-person and remotely. A special highlight was the presentation by our colleague from Agri2000 Hellas, showcasing the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬 achieved on crops like hazelnut, apple, and pear. These results underline the exceptional performance of 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐢, our 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, in sucker and weed control. 🌾✨ The insights gained at ABIM 2024 are instrumental as we plan for 2025 trials, and we are excited about the future and the continued success of our pelargonic acid formulation.🌿 #PelargonicAcid #AgerBi #SustainableAgriculture #LifeProject

1st NATURAL POWER LIFE Project Annual Meeting – Two Days of Collaboration and Progress! ✨🌍 We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the 1st NATURAL POWER LIFE Project annual meeting, which spanned two highly productive days hosted by the Coordinator, Versalis! 🌱 Throughout the meeting, all Work Package leaders and partners presented detailed updates, including their objectives, key tasks and outcomes, deliverables and milestones, along with the next steps for the upcoming 6 months.
