RE -CORD (Renewables Energy Consortium for Research and Demonstration) is a non-profit company that provides system expertise and resources (laboratories, experimental areas and demo plants) to create a critical mass and to develop research in a scientific and technological level. RE-CORD main goals are: • Put together member resources in a simple structure able to catch opportunities quickly and efficiently. • Represent an excellence centre for research and demonstration on several specific areas of Renewable Energy, Agro-energy and Biofuels, both in a national and in an international scale. • Represent a specialist in a leading sector of the economy, providing authorities and enterprises with services through its know-how, its experience and its facilities (plants, chemical laboratory). • Promote sustainable development of territory and, thanks to its activity of technical and scientific networking, connects experiences and expertise available in different areas, both in Italy and abroad. • Offer to enterprices and other research centers its chemical laboratory servicies, providing a wide range of physical and chemical analysis according to the main European and international standards on a large variety of materials together with biogas production test, microalgae growth test and high value bioproducts estraction. • Give highly skilled graduated young the opportunity to work in their geographical area, supporting administrations and domestic companies in their geographical area, so as to avoiding talent emigration.

Today at #Ecomondo in Rimini, we held the first meeting of the MIDAS Italian Regional Advisory Group, hosted by Novamont and moderated by Prof. Andrea Monti Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna. 🌱 This gathering brought together 20 participants representing farmers associations, farmers, service providers, consultants, and researchers. We engaged in a lively discussion, gaining insightful perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing agriculture on marginal lands in Italy. Key themes included: The unique challenges of farming on marginal lands: participants shared their experiences and insights into the specific obstacles faced in these areas. The potential of bio-based value chains and industrial crops: we explored how these can provide solutions for farmers seeking to cultivate marginal lands sustainably. Synergies with regenerative agriculture: the group discussed how industrial crops and bio-based value chains can complement regenerative practices, promoting soil health and biodiversity. We are grateful for the diverse perspectives shared and the collaborative spirit of the meeting. The insights gathered will be instrumental in guiding the MIDAS project as we continue to develop and demonstrate sustainable bio-based value chains for marginal lands across Europe. Our Raw Material and Carbon Recycling R&D engineer Marta Di Bianca and Andrea Salimbeni attending to the 2nd Swedish Conference on Sewage Sludge Biochar in Malmö. The conference organized by the Sweden Water Research brings together researchers, companies and other stakeholders regarding sludge pyrolysis and biochar. Andrea Salimbeni made a speech on the selective recovery of biocoal and phosphorus from sewage sludge and the process ”Charlene” while the topic of Marta Di Bianca's speech was the sorbents production and phosphorus recovery from municipal sewage sludge by an integrated thermochemical process. Yesterday Andrea Salimbeni, leader of our Raw Material & Carbon Recycling business unit, presented "The role of advanced technologies towards a sustainable phosphorus value chain" in the context of 𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 #ESPC5 in Leiden, Spain. The Conference is organised by the ESPP European Sustainable Phosphorus Platform, together with the BETA Technological Center, and will delve into the challenges and opportunities related to sustainable phosphorus management in the Mediterranean context. Addressing the four key points - organic agriculture, water reuse, eutrophication and phosphorus balance and energy transition - the conference seeks to drive positive change and contribute to a more sustainable future. #ESPP #phosphorous #sustainability
