Al giorno d’oggi, un numero crescente di settori, tra cui l’Industria 4.0, il settore medico, automobilistico e logistico, stanno sfruttando la robotica per trasformare i processi tradizionali e massimizzarne l’efficienza e l’affidabilità. Il campo dei robot mobili è in rapida evoluzione grazie all’introduzione di nuove tecnologie legate all’intelligenza artificiale, che possono essere profondamente sfruttate per definire una nuova categoria di veicoli denominata Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR). L'implementazione di tali soluzioni sui carrelli elevatori consente la movimentazione di materiali in ogni tipo di ambiente e dà la possibilità all'utilizzatore di essere assistito durante numerose operazioni. Polytec Intralogistics mira a rendere la robotica un servizio a supporto dell’uomo, puntando sullo sviluppo di tecnologie che forniscano al robot la possibilità di riconoscere l’ambiente circostante e fare distinzione tra ostacoli fissi e mobili, persone e muri. L'azienda progetta inoltre sofisticati algoritmi per la circolazione dei veicoli basati su innovative tecniche di pianificazione in tempo reale. Queste tecnologie consentono al robot, sulla base di valutazioni ambientali, di navigare autonomamente in ambienti complessi anche in presenza di ostacoli e impedimenti fisici imprevisti, mantenendo sempre come priorità la sicurezza umana. Inoltre, studiamo e sviluppiamo soluzioni avanzate per l'interazione uomo-macchina, al fine di sviluppare il concetto di robotica cooperativa, elemento fondamentale nel concetto di Industria 5.0.
