During the last appointment of the #ForestamiAcademy, the initative promoted by #PradaGroup and Forestami , has been explored the link between nature and psychophysical well-being with the contribution of two experts, Dr #ViolaBenedetti and Dr #ElenaBarbierato from the University of Florence. Their research has shown that living in contact with nature not only relaxes the mind, but also improves cognitive abilities and reduces mental fatigue typical of urban environments. Thanks to technologies such as near-infrared spectroscopy, it is possible to monitor the oxygenation of the brain and observe how exposure to greenery positively affects our organism. These kinds of studies are essential for designing more sustainable cities, where urban greenery becomes an integral part of collective wellbeing. This year, the third cycle of Kindergarten of the Lagoon — an outdoor Ocean Literacy initiative for preschoolers in Venice and part of the #SEABEYOND program — combines Ocean education and experiential learning with the transformative power of performative art through three inspiring workshops. Guided by Venetian director #MattiaBerto and part of the #teatrodicittadinanza project, the workshops transform children’s observations of the lagoon into creative expressions. Using movement and voice, they embody marine life and bring the Ocean’s stories to life. Parents and the talented Teatro di Cittadinanza performers join the children as they dive into the wonders of the Ocean, preparing for an unforgettable public performance at Lido di Venezia. In line with the Drivers of Change values and the Group's sustainability strategy, several volunteering campaigns have taken place around the world in recent weeks. At our Headquarters, for the second year in a row, we carried out a planting activity in collaboration with Forestami - the urban reforestation project for the metropolitan city of Milan that the Prada Group has been supporting since 2022 - in the Parco della Balossa, where employees, under the guidance of the park's agronomists, planted around 500 plants that will create a new forest area in the park. In New York, we teamed up with Clean Miami Beach - a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of coastlines and marine wildlife - for a volunteer coastal cleanup, during which employees collected nearly 32kg (70 pounds) of trash.   Volunteer cleanup photo credits: Peter A.
