How the #Rossini #Speedwell system came to be The introduction of Speedwell sleeves in the early 1980s is owed to a flash of inspiration that came to Felice Rossini as he watched a Strachan Henshaw Machinery machine printing with a cliché sleeve fitted onto a #mandrel. This gave him the idea, which he immediately patented, of producing conical sleeves and coating them with the same special Rossini rubber compounds that had already achieved significant success on the market, and offering them as #impressionrollers for both #rotogravuremachines and coating and laminating machines. The Speedwell patent expired in 1996, but in spite of this, and despite the fact that over the years, similar products have been developed by competitors, Rossini Spa continues to hold an 80% share of global sales of this category of product, as it IS THE ONLY COMPANY IN THE WORLD WITH A COMPREHENSIVE AND UP TO DATE DATABASE OF THE CONICITY MEASUREMENTS FOR ALL SLEEVES AND MANDRELS EXISTING ON THE MARKET, which are crucial for ensuring a perfectly aligned and constant print register.
