EU-Italy Energy Days in Turin On Thursday, January 23rd, SIMIC had the honor of participating in the 2nd International Symposium EU-Italy Energy Days in Turin, titled “How to Achieve Near-Zero Emissions by 2050”. This event was organized by the Politecnico di Torino in collaboration with Ministero dell'Ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica. On this day, the symposium provided a platform to discuss various aspects of the nuclear sector's supply chain. Marianna Ginola, Head of the Nuclear Department at SIMIC, had the opportunity to share our perspective in this debate. Given the complexity of the nuclear market, companies must be prepared to address several key areas such as business development, skills and competencies, infrastructures and facilities, and working groups. All aspects which, thanks to the extensive experience of ITER Organization project, SIMIC managed to gain expertise in. In terms of quality, technology and innovation capacity our company has continuously improved, establishing itself as one of the leading players in the nuclear fusion industry. The experience gained in such projects is directly applicable to the modular, standardized and high technology approach required for #SMR and #AMR nuclear technologies. From our perspective, the key priorities for the nuclear supply chain and for the nuclear industrial framework include: · Driving industry growth through nuclear projects to be accomplished. · Italy and Europe should support the Nuclear Renaissance and allocate sufficient resources to accelerate the development of nuclear energy and attract investments to support supply chain growth. In addition, we need a clear strategy for the nuclear sector, as done by other countries like the UK and the US. · The supply chain shall work to create partnerships and collaborations, work as a system on a European Level. SIMIC actively contributes to this effort through its membership in organizations such as AIN (Associazione Italiana Nucleare) and EFA (European Fusion Association), a recent initiative aimed at fostering collaboration across industry, academia and governments in the fusion sector. In conclusion, we extend our heartfelt thanks to #PoliTo and #MASE for inviting us to this groundbreaking event. We are more than delighted to contribute to such a fundamental discussion around combating climate change and advancing greener energy solutions. #NuclearEnergy #Sustainability #Innovation #FusionEnergy #Europe
