For the culmination of the international visit, the A Feral Commons delegation gathered at Mannings Park for a powerful closing of the project, centered around ‘Chain of Love: Rice and Peas Bush’ in Lower South Camp by Jamaican artist Camille Chedda. This installation reimagines urban spaces as sites of resilience, memory, and possibility. Joined by curator Tairone Bastien and writer Isis Semaj, the gathering celebrated the project’s emphasis on community engagement. Attended by the His Worship, Mayor Andrew Swaby, sponsors such as Gore Family Foundation, and local residents, the event highlighted how public art fosters collaboration, healing, and growth. Art is a changemaker. Through installations like Chain of Love, A Feral Commons reminds us of the potential for creativity to address the climate crisis, reconnect us with the natural world, and inspire lasting change.
