  • We believe building a sustainable future relies on strong partnerships and collective action. 🌿   Last year, our Procurement and Sustainability teams, including Asahi Global Procurement, embarked on an inspiring field visit to several agricultural ingredient suppliers in #Malaysia.   We connected with various tiers of the supply chain—from the fields to the factories—engaged with local partners and certification bodies and uncovered both challenges and opportunities to advance sustainability.   • What does true inclusion look like? Asahi Group Japan, in collaboration with Asahi Group Holdings, recently had the privilege of hosting Nami Kishida, a renowned Japanese author, as our keynote speaker. Nami's deeply personal and heartfelt writing explores themes of family, disability, loss, and resilience. During her speech, she shared her own experiences growing up with family members who have disabilities, offering profound insights into their daily lives and the lives of the people around them. Employees found her story incredibly inspiring and eye-opening. Many expressed how her words helped them gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by people with disabilities and their families. While her family's disabilities played a role in shaping her outlook, it was clear that Nami’s genuine efforts to support others reflected her deep respect for each person’s unique qualities in a truly inclusive manner. This newfound awareness has sparked meaningful conversations about how we can remove barriers and create a more inclusive workplace.   • 🤔 What does it take to turn diversity into meaningful connections? 🤔 At Asahi Group, we believe the answer lies in action. This November, Asahi Group Japan’s DE&I initiatives brought our values to life in impactful ways. Our annual DE&I Day offered employees a chance to engage in activities that fostered empathy and understanding, such as the Air Café, organized by Dialogue Japan Society, where participants used gestures to communicate with servers who had hearing impairments, uncovering creative ways to connect and collaborate. These moments challenged our team to see inclusion as a skill we practice, not just a value we hold. Employees walked away with a deeper understanding of what it means to connect with others meaningfully and authentically. 💡 Our Takeaway: DE&I is about more than policies—it’s about creating opportunities to learn, grow, and connect.   • On this International Volunteer Day, we reflect on our 2024 activities that have strengthened our connections. 🤝🌍 Here are just a few examples of how our colleagues across each region have supported their communities:   🌟 Japan: Our team members cleaned up the area around the zoo, cherished by the local community, and parts of Yakushima Island, a World Natural Heritage.   🌟 Europe: More than 800 colleagues in Poland are set to provide Christmas gifts to 94 households in need as part of the Noble Box program.   🌟 Oceania: 40 team members volunteered for Foodbank Victoria. Together, they packed the equivalent of 59,025 meals for Victorians in need.   As we bring people together to make the world shine brighter, we celebrate their courage, dedication, and volunteer spirit that lights up our communities.
