🇯🇵 Japan discovery #2 🇯🇵 🚊 On the road again to explore the fermentation ecosystem in Japan! 🧑🌾 on Tuesday & Wednesday we met with our friends from the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization in Tsukuba. Thanks to very fruitful discussions with Dr Keitarou Kimura, Dr Satoru Tomita, Dr Junichi Mano, and the whole team, we identified common topics of interest such as the development of high quality databases to accelerate innovation. After a lab tour (and an unforgettable diner), we moved to Mito to visit the TAKANOFOODS CO., LTD. natto factory!! 🏭 🍃 back to Tokyo we were delighted to meet with Shogo Fukizaki and Lucas Mixich from Fermelanta, Inc. We shared about the potential of precision fermentation to produce high-added value ingredients to complement the current offer. We also compared the EU/Japan frameworks around these innovative biotechs… and how to accelerate. Thanks again to all the people who make this trip truly unique.
