Pleased to share an update that Sumitomo Chemical's project to develop large-diameter GaN-on-GaN wafers for power electronics has been selected for NEDO's FY 2024 program. NEDO is one of Japan's largest national R&D agencies. This support will accelerate our efforts to mass-produce high-quality six-inch GaN-on-GaN wafers, significantly contributing to a more energy-efficient society.   GaN-on-GaN wafers are known for their superior energy efficiency, high breakdown voltage, and high current operation, making them ideal for applications in electrical infrastructure, data centers, and electric vehicles. We’re thrilled to share that Sumitomo Chemical has bought shares of PeptiStar Inc. in a private placement to boost our high-purity long-chain guide RNA (gRNA) supply capacity. This strategic move lets us combine our tech with PeptiStar's expertise, ensuring a steady supply of top-notch gRNA to meet all kinds of customer needs. Since 2013, Sumitomo Chemical has been involved in the contract manufacturing of nucleic acid drug substances, pioneering the technology for large-scale chemical synthesis of high-purity gRNA. Our new manufacturing plant in Oita, Japan, further strengthens our production capabilities. By partnering with PeptiStar, we are implementing a dual-site production system to meet growing demand and advance manufacturing technologies for nucleic acid-peptide conjugates. Sumitomo Chemical is pleased to announce the release of CFP-TOMO® Ver 3.1, a tool that simplifies and efficiently calculates product carbon footprints (CFP). This version introduces a click-on agreement, making it easier for users to start using CFP-TOMO®. The click-on agreement allows users to agree to the terms by simply clicking a button, streamlining the process. Previously, a formal licensing agreement between companies was required, but this is no longer necessary with the new version. Please review and understand the terms before use.  We currently have over 110 companies, primarily in the chemical industry, using this tool. Sumitomo Chemical obtained registration for Rapidicil®, a new herbicide that contributes to regenerative #agriculture, in Argentina.   The Company has identified Rapidicil®, a novel herbicidal active ingredient, as one of the products that have the greatest market potential in its pre-launch product pipeline. Particularly suitable for non-tilling #farming, the PPO inhibitor is fast-acting and highly effective in weed control even at low doses. The product is receiving attention as an up-and-coming product that can contribute to soil conservation and #CarbonNeutrality by reducing carbon dioxide emissions.   The launch in #Argentina, the world’s fourth-largest market for crop protection products, is the start of efforts to make Rapidicil® a blockbuster product that drives growth for the Company’s agricultural solutions business. Applications are also being reviewed in the USA, Canada, and Brazil. The Company will continue to develop innovative crop protection products in order to help reduce environmental impact, advance sustainable agriculture, and contribute to stable food supplies for people around the world.
