Although the hotel room was very dated and worn, we were pleased with the food and services. For the cost we paid, I think it deserves a four out of five star. We booked this hotel for overnight stay as we hiked from Ryuzu Cascades to Oku Nikko. The hotel ground is clean and staff spoke well English. The onsen water was amazing, milky blue colour with indoor and outdoor pools. However I felt crowded when you have six people using the onsen. The change room was small and suggest you timed your entry to get best use of the onsen. The highlight for us was the food. It was prepared by local Tochigi fresh produce. The next day we walked around Oku Nikki and spotted a lot of dears. Travel back to Nikko was easy, you can walk to bus terminal in 5min but I won’t suggest to carry large luggage as there is no room to store the large luggage and you would need to hold it securely all the time.
