Australia-Africa ties are expanding with Australian companies investing billions in mining projects across Africa. Six East Africans recently participated in the Australia Awards' Mining Governance in Africa Short Course at The University of Queensland in Australia including Patricie Bigirimana (Burundi), Ali Babu Jai and Roselyne Chelangat (Kenya), Barbara Akaliza (Rwanda), Abdulrahaman S. Mwanga (Tanzania) and Paul Brian Uzatunga (Uganda). The Australia Awards Short Course aimed to enhance relationships and knowledge exchange between Australians and East Africans working in the minerals sector.
