This week, Clean Cooking Association of Kenya (CCAK) had the pleasure of hosting a delegation of Congolese Renewable Energy Association , ACERD asbl, UNDP & United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) DRC and HAMERKOP Climate Impacts on a knowledge exchange and experience sharing mission in Kenya. The experience entailed an overview of CCAK’s operations and the overall market environment, site visits to CCAK member organizations and a visit to the recently opened Clean Cooking Hub at the REREC Jamhuri Energy Centre. During the visits, the delegation gained insights on the Kenyan clean cooking market environment, the different approaches towards enhancing #energyefficiency & #energyaccess and initiatives taken to overcome barriers limiting market entry and growth for small and medium sized entrepreneurs. A key component of the site visits involved exploring and understanding the production processes and understanding the maintenance and after sale services for different #cleancooking technologies. This knowledge will support the visitors to implement and improve the Democratic Republic of Congo’s clean cooking sector. Today, Ecobora was honored to host the President of the republic of, H.E. William Samoei Ruto PHD Kenya at TRANSFORM (Unilever, FCDO & EY) exhibition booth where Ecobora is showcasing our institutional solar cooking innovation at the ongoing Kenya Innovation Week(KIW) 2024 at the Edge Convention Center, Nairobi, Kenya. "Ecobora's Institutional Solar cooking technology is a powerful innovation that will make school feeding programs run more efficiently in Kenya," H.E. William Samoei Ruto PHD said. Nairobi County governor Sakaja Johnson who was in attendance was is keen to pilot our institutional solar cooking stove at the central kitchen for their school feeding program for Nairobi County.
