🎞️ Stories have the power to inspire, connect, and reshape the way we see the world. African filmmakers are harnessing this power, crafting narratives that challenge stereotypes, celebrate innovation, and amplify the voices of 1.3 billion people. Through the lens of their art, they are unlocking opportunities and driving meaningful change across the globe. This is why Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is proud to implement the #MovingPictures initiative, promoting Africa’s film industry as a contributor to global cooperation. At the #SomeFinePitch Award Ceremony in Nairobi we celebrated the incredible talents of African storytellers with our partners SOME FINE DAY Pix, the Kenya Film Commission, and the AEDA | African-European Distribution Academy. While these filmmakers are rewriting global perceptions one story at a time, we also cheered amazing innovators who are developing new ways of distributing African movies and unlock new audiences. Together we believe in the transformative power of film.

🤝 Strong economic ties between Germany and Africa not only have advantages for companies, but also advance the global Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs). This is the message coming out of the German-African Business Summit (GABS) 2024 in Nairobi. ▶️ As part of the summit, together with DEG Impulse and Agentur für Wirtschaft und Entwicklung, we have launched a new practical advisory service for private companies: the Partners in Transformation Desk supports them from the business idea to reliable partnerships in East Africa. 🗨️ At the same time, the Business Leaders Forum, which we helped launch two months ago at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, is entering its next round in #Nairobi. The forum, hosted by GIZ's Managing Director Anna Sophie Herken, builds strong networks and promotes exchange between the private sector and government representatives. #PublicPrivatePartnership #SustainableFinance Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft (German - African Business Association) BDI - Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.V., DIHK, COMESA Secretariat, Ministry of Investments,Trade and Industry
