  • Article 57 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 upholds the rights of older adults, and targeted awareness creation is a pathway geared towards enabling the indiscriminate observation of these rights. This year, at Hope to Live, we conducted a series of community sensitization forums in Muhoroni, Seme, Nyakach, Nyando, Kisumu East, Ng'iya & Mbita through a structured programmatic intervention to ensure the inclusion of older adults in social spaces; a platform where they can channel their voices to advocate for their Health Rights. • On Friday, our staff led by its CEO Oscar Odhiambo closed the three months project titled Architectural Solutions to Address Educational Needs of Climate-Displaced Families in Kisumu. The team visited the workshop site to oversee final aspects of the project. They took a tour of the Ombaka camp in Kakola Location, Nyando Sub County where over 150 people displaced by floods have been sheltering. It was heartbreaking to see the difficult living conditions - many elderly locals sleeping on hard mats and cold floors with little protection from the elements. As the project came to an end, Hope to Live was proud to donate much-needed food, mattresses and blankets to all 150+ residents. Our goal is always to provide immediate relief as well as long-term solutions. Oscar took the opportunity to engage with the community to discuss sustainable plans that could help the elderlies achieve financial stability going forward, further protecting their well-being and human dignity. Thank you to all our generous donors who helped make this project and donations possible. Though the workshop is now complete, our commitment to this vulnerable population continues. #CHEPMAD
