Inclusive Network Initiatives (INI) is thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievement of our Chief Technology and Innovation Officer (CTIO), who was honored at the Africa AI Innovation Summit held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi on May 28th. This prestigious event took place during the 59th African Development Bank Group Annual Meetings and spotlighted groundbreaking advancements in technology and innovation across the continent. Our CTIO's recognition was part of the National Finals for the 3-month Special Needs AI Hackathon Program, a pioneering initiative dedicated to leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) for inclusivity and empowerment. About the Special Needs AI Hackathon Program Sponsored by Huawei, Kenya National Innovation Agency, UNESCO, and Assistive Technology for Development, and hosted by the Kenya Institute of Special Education, this program aimed to harness the power of AI to develop innovative solutions for individuals with special needs. Over the course of three months, participants collaborated to create assistive technologies that address challenges faced by persons with disabilities, fostering a more inclusive society. Honoring Innovation and Inclusion Our CTIO's participation and recognition at the summit underscore INI’s commitment to driving technological innovation for the benefit of vulnerable communities. Their contributions reflected INI's mission to champion inclusivity and ensure that technology serves as a bridge to opportunity rather than a barrier.

Inclusive Network Initiatives (INI) is dedicated to fostering a more inclusive society where every individual, regardless of their abilities, is given equal opportunities and support. Recently, our Director had the privilege of meeting with a group of enthusiastic youths from Garissa County to raise awareness about the importance of inclusion for persons with disabilities (PWDs). A Crucial Dialogue on Disability Inclusion The meeting provided a valuable platform for young people to engage in meaningful discussions about the barriers faced by persons with disabilities in various sectors, including education, employment, and social participation. INI’s Director emphasized that inclusion is not just a legal or moral obligation, but a fundamental human right that enhances the overall well-being of individuals and society as a whole.
