Our Welders have successfully completed their projects which are now ready for examination by @KEBS_ke. Following this, their work will be sent to the South African Institute of Welding for the final grading. Over the past months, we've seen remarkable growth in the quality of their welds, a testament to their hard work and dedication. The inaugural cohort of the International Certified Welders training program has today undertaken their final exams and what a journey it's been! Over the past 3 months they have honed their skills in various advanced welding techniques including 111 SMAW and 135 MAG As they step into the industry they'll not just be Certified, they are equipped with real-world expertise that sets them apart. MIOG recently hosted a team from Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) who were on a benchmarking mission to acquaint itself with the requirements of establishing a consultancy wing for supporting energy infrastructure development. MIOG shared key insights on resource optimization, risk mitigation, and staying competitive in the evolving energy industry.

Multimedia University's School of Engineering team visited MIOG to discuss various collaboration opportunities. The key highlights of the discussions include: 🔹 3 months Internship opportunities for MMU students in fields like welding and mechanical engineering 🔹 Exchange program for learning at MIOG’s advanced QC labs 🔹 Practical training in industrial welding techniques and access to smart classrooms for robotics 🔹 Collaborative curriculum development in Mining & Processing that will feed into some of MIOG's programs. Both institutions are working towards formalizing the partnership through an MOU, paving the way for enhanced industry exposure and skill development for students.

In efforts to help our Welding graduates to unlock job opportunities abroad, MIOG is in talks with the Youth Enterprise Fund to provide them with the resources and support they need to secure international employment. In the light of this, we recently hosted a representative from the Youth Enterprise Fund who took our trainees through the financial options available to them to facilitate their transition into the global stage. By linking them to vital funding and international employment, MIOG is ensuring that its welding graduates can access not only the necessary skills but also the financial backing to kick-start their global careers.
