Accountant Role: Taimba is looking for suitable candidates to fill the position of a junior Accountant. The candidate will be accountable for managing payables, receivables, business analysis and general business operations. RESPONSIBILITIES: (1) Accounting · Own and weekly track cash flow to ensure budget holders operate within their budget · Conducting weekly and monthly stock take to analyze on stock variances per product · Perform payments, reconciliations against supplier statements, highlighting any reconciling items for follow up and resolution. · Reconciling receivables by analyzing the days’ sales against the debts and money collected for any variances in the accounting system · Ensure strict adherence to the organization’s Delegation of Authority matrix. Pro-actively manage expense and petty postings against budget, analysis and escalating any variance for approval before any commitment is done. Executing payments according to the set schedule and in alignment to monthly cash forecast · Booking of supplier invoices on accounting system (Odoo) as receipted on a daily basis. · Initiating bank and all petty cash payments on accounting system on daily basis · Ensure adherence to finance SOP and continuously make improvements to general business processes RESPONSIBILITIES: (2) Financial Analysis · Preparation of daily KPIs to review business performance to ensure data-informed decision · Pro-actively highlight KPI’s (revenue, profitability, costs) that are behind the target · Analyzing the three financial statements and identifying trends. · Assist on the end month closure by analysing and comparing the past and the current financial data and performance and preparing reports and projections based on the analysis RESPONSIBILITIES: (3) ERP Ownership · Ensure adherence and compliance to ERP standards by enforcing good practice on data capture · Reviewing ERP reports for accuracy and meticulously tracing errors back to their source RESPONSIBILITIES: (4) Inventory and asset controls · Working closely with the warehouse to ensure all Inventory received is recorded in the system · Ensuring that weekly stock take is done and properly documented and later reconciled. Qualifications: Have a good working knowledge of MS Excel skills and a strong ability in using other MS Office applications. i. Have prior experience working with an ERP software. ii. Have at least 1 year working experience in a busy accounting environment (with considerable exposure to high volume of payables accounting). iii. Have advanced excel experience in analyzing complex data iv. Have a university degree/diploma in Business, Economics, or relevant field. v.
