About us
Youth4Nature (Y4N) is a by-youth, for-youth, international non-profit organisation, that works at the intersection of both nature and climate. Our mission is to address the challenges of resources, capacity, knowledge & access that prevent youth from being full and effective leaders for nature and climate solutions that are rooted in knowledge and grounded in justice. We do this by: Educating youth to build knowledge and inspire new and innovative ideas; Equipping youth with resources, skills, and access to transform their ideas into climate-nature solutions; and, Establishing youth as leaders for nature and climate on global and local stages. Our overarching ambition is to tackle the deep roots of the climate and biodiversity crisis through the leadership of youth. By building their capacity from the most grassroots to the most international level, we want to further empower and sustain the voices of the unheard to foster bottom-up change that is inclusive, participatory, and systemic. And because we are young people ourselves, we have the ability to ensure that our community has agency and ownership over the nature and climate work that we need and deserve to lead on, contributing to our mission even further.

Solutions to the #climate and #biodiveristy crises are being implemented all around us! This new documentary produced by If Not Us Then Who? and Nature4Climate explores the socio-bioeconomy market in Brazil. This #economic model transforms agricultural practices, recognizes #traditional #cultures, and helps achieve climate and biodiversity goals while providing #jobs and #fair compensation. 🌴 ✨ Watch this 10-minute film here (subtitles in English & português): bit.ly/SeedingSB. This documentary is part of the Nature in Action series, which shares stories from Tanzania to Panama, Indonesia, and beyond!
What if our way of life could connect with a thriving nature, rather than destroying its richness and diversity? This is what socio-bioeconomy proposes and is turning into a reality on the ground. This model connects the traditional knowledge of communities about the best ways to use, restore, and protect resources, with the creation of employment and exploration of products that come from nature but do not exploit it. 📈 If socio-bioeconomy was more broadly implemented, for example in Brazil, it could actually restore more than 24 million hectares of forest and boost the Amazon’s GDP by 40 billion Reais annually. But what does socio-bioeconomy look like on the ground? This is what we explored in the film by Nature4Climate and If Not Us Then Who? in collaboration with Articulação dos Povos Indígenas do Brasil (APIB) , filmed in Oiapoque, Brasília, and São Paulo, showcasing the efforts of Indigenous and local communities like #EmpórioUasei driving this change and the impact of the socio-bioeconomy as a scalable solution worldwide. 🎥 Watch the film as part of the Nature in Action series and discover more about this model. We were so happy to be part of the #Tools4Youth Marketplace at #COP29! Young people are already leaders for #climate and #nature, and ensuring they have the tools they need is crucial for creating more access, deepening impact, and connecting across solutions. 🌱
UN Climate Change | Capacity-building & Multilateralism for Climate Action | Stakeholder Engagement | Communications & Outreach
#Youth4Capacity's #Tools4Youth Marketplace returned at #COP29 to bring together leading organizations and impactful climate action tools under one roof to make them more accessible to youth attending COP29 Azerbaijan. The session kicked off with the launch of the “Becoming a Climate Champion" e-course by Sophie De Coninck, Director of the Means of Implementation subdivision at UN Climate Change and Italian Ministry for the Environment. This course has been developed by #Youth4Capacity and United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and strives to empower you(th) to put in place or ramp up climate initiatives by enhancing skills in five key areas: leadership, project management, resource mobilization, leave no one behind and communications. Find it on the UN CC:Learn platform - https://lnkd.in/g74KrEuF In conversation with Leyla Hasanova (Presidency Youth Climate Champion), Cory Witter (Youth Climate Lab), Maria Paula (Youth4Nature), and Aakash Ranison / I’m A Climate Optimist on "Why do Tools4Youth Matter? Here were some key takeaways 📌: ✅ Open-access, youth-centric tools like the Youth Climate Toolbox and Youth4Nature Nature-climate Hub are vital for sharing learnings and aligning resources with youth needs. ✅ Tools can bridge gaps between topics, such as climate and nature, to highlight nature's role in solutions. ✅ Youth engagement is key—platforms must amplify young voices and address their concerns directly. ✅ Actionable guidance and relatable storytelling inspire individual and collective action. ✅ Striking a balance between technical information and practical advice ensures accessibility and real-world impact. BinBin from Delft University of Technology presented ENCLUDE's "A Changemakers Guide to the Energy Transition", introducing systems thinking as a tool and highlighting the value of diverse perspectives, patience, and persistence in tackling climate challenges. Check out the playbook here: https://lnkd.in/gUMJfhZE Laura alongside Hailey (Care About Climate), Chandelle, Lydia, Karishma, & Kassim from YOUNGO, facilitated youth in navigating over 20 tools showcased at the marketplace.
