🌍 #Kyrgyzstan Takes a Step Forward in #Climate #Transparency! 🌱 Today, Kyrgyzstan officially launched its preparation for the First Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) as an important step in strengthening climate governance and fulfilling commitments under the #ParisAgreement. The BTR1 will serve as a foundation for providing up-to-date data on greenhouse gas emissions, climate policy, and Kyrgyzstan’s progress in achieving Nationally Determined Contributions (#NDCs), enhancing #accountability and opening new #opportunities for attracting international #climate #finance. Preparations for the third NDC are actively progressing with a particular focus on transparency, including the assessment of progress toward its goals. Strengthening transparency frameworks is essential for securing funding, engage in carbon markets, and advancing climate action, which in turn supports sustainable development and the safeguarding of ecosystems. The event organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology in collaboration with UNDP, UNEP-WCMC and Global Environment Facility, brought together #government representatives, #experts and #partners. 📣 On February 13 and 19-20, UNDP team completed two importanttrainings: employment of people with disabilities and organization of inclusive events ✅ The programs were aimed at developing inclusivepractices and creating equal opportunities for everyone, including: ⠀ 🔹 attracting, recruiting and professionally developing people with disabilities; 🔹 creating an accessible and safe workspace; 🔹 forming an inclusive corporate culture; 🔹 providing reasonable accommodations in theworkplace; 🔹 planning and holding accessible events for people with disabilities; 🔹 training staff in correct communication andinteraction with people with disabilities. ⠀ 📝 When planning inclusive events, it is important to remember about the accessibility of the venue, including the availability of ramps, wide doorways and inclusive toilets. It is important to consider a flexible schedule of participation, accessible formats of information (e.g. Braille, subtitles, sign language) and the creation of comfortable conditions for all participants. ⠀ It is also worth providing assistance from assistants and training staff in the rules of respectful and correct communication. Inclusive environment creates cohesion and boosts the involvement of each employee. ⠀ Creating an inclusive environment is about simple, practical steps that everyone can take. 🙌🏽 In 2024, UNDP, UNICEF and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) under UNPRPD project have been supporting the Government of #Kyrgyzstan, Council on Rights of Persons with Disabilities under the Cabinet of Ministers and #disability organizations in implementing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
